This song really hits deep if you’ve gone through depression but acted as if everything was fine around people, but literally your nights were filled with tears and emptiness. To everyone going through this, I’m sending you love and light ❤️&💡. It gets better, jut hang in there.

The maturity she displays throughout this album is admirable. I’m so proud of her.

I think in my theory, she's speaking about her struggles of being a celebrity and still being human. She pretends she's perfect and fakes a smile, but really, she's a human being with feelings. She can't be herself around certain people, tired of always living up to her reputation by going to parties and places and learns to not make mistakes or show her true feelings and needs protection to get to places. It shows that she's tired of it. She can't fake another smile.

Ari went through a lot. Her parents split when she was a preteen, her grandpa passed away, a lot of her fans died infront of her, Mac died, she got a lot of hate from a lot of foolish people too. THIS WOMAN WENT THROUGH A LOT! Yet she stands unbeatable! She is constantly making music in order to heal herself and her fans since then. She is giving a lot of love and happiness to everyone. This all makes sense. Ari said in one interview that she just wanted to sing, turn the lights off, and not do lots of concerts. She did this song because she wanted to express how she felt, she acts perfect, but she's a human like us, with feelings. In 0:45, her voice felt like in pain. The dialogue "Don't blame me" was referring to either Mac's death, or the Manchester Attack. She doesn't go to meet and greets because she can't fake another smile.

Right then and there, your singing a fan favorite song. But all of a sudden, you hear a bomb. Everyone starts running and screaming. You are amazingly grateful to make it out alive. But not everyone made it. There where 22 dead and hundreds more badly injured. You have all this pressure on you. You feel like it's your fault (although you know it's not) and your so overwhelmed. And to top that off your grandpa dies from cancer? This is very hard on someone especially after a big incident like the Manchester Bombing. You still have your ex-boyfriend to love and help you. But then right when all of this is happening your boyfriend is announced to have a drug overdose. Suddenly, he dies. You still have to put on a fake smile and perform for your fans and smile for the paparrazi and look happy all the time. The message of this song is to tell people how you feel and don't be afraid to express how you really feel. 😘🖤🙏
