I just built a new system for the same reasons. I bought the Alienware OLED ultrawide 34" 3440x1440p panel (gorgeous btw) and needed some extra power for the extended resolution. I was on a 9600K @ 4.4Ghz and an RTX 3060Ti. Was going to upgrade to a 7800XT but it wasn't enough of a boost over the 3060Ti and I didn't want to buy into a 7900 XT or 4070Ti/S. When I saw the GRE come out, it was decided. You get close to a 7900 XT for a fair price. There hopefully will be a fix for the RAM clock speed bug. Once we can OC the RAM it will further close that gap to the XT. I paired this Steel Legend 7900 GRE with the Steel Legend B650E motherboard and a 7800X3D.

It's like changing the timings on your system. RAM not the clock speed but the timings like CL16 1919 39 3600 megahertz if I started messing with those CL timings, that's what the fast timing setting does. At least as far as I was explained

You need to install the latest driver to unlock memory oc! This thing overclock like a beast! Up to 10-15% only with memory oc

here is one positive to take away...even though the memory is gimped, it is not nearly as gimped as what memory speeds nvidia offers on cards in this and above this price range. still seems good in my book!

I was in a similar situation but looking for a card that fits in a FormD T1 mini ITX case. The Gigabyte model was short enought to fit and has the best value for the performance. Alot of people were talking negatively about this card, but since it's nearly impossible to find an equivalent Nvidia card for MSRP, the value is great.

I had issues as soon as I turned fast timing on it kind of froze up. I managed to turn it off and then the problem went away before my system locked up when I tried 2600 memory it crashed my computer so I ran the auto OC in the auto memory. Overclock and then just typed in numbers that it gave me and do a manual overclock with power limit. Maxed out and left it alone so far

planning on pairing one with a 7800x3d, cheapest 4070 goes for 100 eur more and i don't plan on using RT so its a no brainer for me

you should be able to push memory to 2600mhz now with AMD latest drivers, It's unlocked the sliders now.

dont forget to OC memory on 7900 gre , few days ago was new driver :D 10% or more performance gain in most games :D and yes memory was unstable so thats why its artefacting unfortunately, now it should be good, if not them RMA

Could it be, the undervolt plus the memory oc? I have had no issues with my sapphire nitro+, but I didn't undervolt to oc the card.

I'm selling my 6800xt red devil. Just picked this card up yesterday for $612 taxed. I have a mostly all white build ao it matches better

If your 6700xt was struggling with 3440 x 1440 imagine how my 5700xt is coping with that resolution then 😂 I've been gaming on that resolution with new games with very little problems and mostly above 60fps with my 5700xt. But I have an XFX 7900gre ordered. It's running slightly quicker than the red devil you. I should get delivery of it by this time next week. Hopefully the delivery driver doesn't drop it in my lap because he would need a key to my house to get in.

I guess some of the benchmarks are showing you're getting 4,070 4,070 super Ray Trace performance and 4,070 ti super non retracing performance roughly
