There's no way to transmit wireless video, at least not that I know of.

It can charge via USB-C. But charging time is slow so I'm not sure if it will still drain battery while it's charging when display is powered on.

It has USB-C, HDMI and Thunderbolt 3. It will connect to Microsoft Surface, if not you'll just need an adapter.

@@teohyc appreciate the response back - thoughts on what both of those above vs. Asus MB16AMT? I was looking at which model of the two brands would compare best but wasn't too sure which one to look at. I also like the really thin bezels on the Asus. Seems like the price is very comparable as well... thoughts? That is the one I'm planning to get because of the power supply being able to go wireless for a period of time. Thoughts? I hear mixed reviews on build quality...

@@ZyvrXYZ Just get the one with the specs you want. Build quality for these external displays are good. Many actually use metal frame unlike computer monitors that use plastic. As for power supply... It depends on whether you're going to use it outdoors or in an environment without power source.

Not wireless as you need to connect cable to laptop. But it does not need to connect to power source. Advantage here is display will not drain the battery of the laptop.

+ Asus should also consider about maximizing this experience by support a note taking app can be installed on laptops

This display is not for writing. It's just for tapping with fingers.

Teoh Yi Chie thanks for the reply. If I use it as a secondary display for my desktop and use the usb c connection on my graphics card could it charge as it’s plugged in.

It should work with wifi dongle such as Google Chromecast. But I’ve not tried it so I can’t confirm. It does charge with external battery

​@@teohyc thanks.reason i'm not sure about it is because as far as i know, the chromecast/anycast on the device will be the reciever, and i'm not sure it'll send response back to the computer, so it would only be a screen then, but not a functioning touchscreen. Or am i understanding that wrong?

@@manoahvanderwolf3259 Chromecast is the receiver so it's not going to send anything. You can stream video from your phone to Chromecast and watch on this monitor.

It’s just a normal pen. It’s added to use as a stand, or use the back of the pen to touch the screen. Not really for drawing or writing.

One side is a stylus and the other is a pen, plus you can use it to prop up the monitor in two orientations. He did explain that.

Yes, you can turn to 90 degrees from MacOS System Preferences.

That looks expensive when there are more budget friendly options from C-Force and Uperfect. One thing I like about the Lenovo is the stand seems good. Most portable displays come with filmsy flip cover stands.

Singapore always has extra mark up above direct currency conversion unfortunately. Especially so for well known brands

I've 4K 15-inch portable displays and yes, the difference in pixelation is very obvious. I'll be selling my 1080P portable display soon. lol

For programming? Any 15-inch external display is good. Most are 1920 x 1080 resolution. But if you can find a 1920 x 1200 external display that would be great (and tell me what it is). The portable external display market is very competitive so you can find many good deals. This ASUS is actually more expensive compared to others I've reviewed, e.g. C-Force, Uperfect

For drawing, you'll want something with an active digitiser - a screen that recognises the pen, can recognise different levels of pressure for thick and thin strokes, and is able to ignore your hand when you rest it on the surface so it doesn't register unintended input. That's the kind of display you get in your iPads and Microsoft Surface Pro. This one looks like it has a capacitive display, meaning it'll only accept input from your hand or a stylus that mimics your hand. Any time you see a stylus with that kind of large soft rounded end, it's a pretty safe bet at it's used with a simpler display (though I have one with a slim tip, they do exist). You can use a capacitive stylus on any touch display, since they mimic the effect of a finger, but something like the Apple pencil or Surface Pro pen will only work with compatible displays - the hardware needs to be built in to the display. Unfortunately. I looked REALLY HARD for a way to get my smartphone to have palm rejection, I really wanted to use my 6.9" display with an active stylus 😂

You can output video signal to this monitor if you have the right adapter. But there's no touchscreen functionality for that connection

Asus did have a 21.6" display portable monitor. And it cost a godamn $4000. AsusProArt PQ22UC

I think it was conceived for travelers. In fact I bought one because its portability, a bigger one wouldn't fit in a backpack.
