A group of riders triggered a rather large and dangerous avalanche in upper Providence Canyon near Logan. Thanks owed to Jerrimy Brenchley for sharing his video...

Not a nice feeling to be chased by an avalanche. After getting away my legs were weak instantly fell after first step off the sled. It took me almost 10 minutes before I had a clear mind again. Stay safe! Wear Avy Packs.

Never underestimate a man’s ability to quietly focus on a problem until the appropriate time to act, kudos!

High marking: how to trigger avalanches in the most effective manner by which to endanger human life.

Such a nice simple and smaller sized hill, yet all that concrete like snow is produced and will take your life. Things happen fast. Glad everyone appears to be okay.

Don't ever go riding alone out there. I am an Alaskan from Point Hope Alaska, born in Kotzebue Alaska. Be careful guys..

Looks like he fell off his sled and was rag dolling down the slope that's what hurt him so bad

The left side of the Redeo Grounds there is known for sliding a lot, so that’s why I stay to the right, and climb

Of all the avalanche videos I've seen this is the best at showing the scale of it all. At first it looked like no big deal I'm thinking just drive through it! Then it becomes a wall. I guess you can't tell how high or steep the bowl is. What a dream ride otherwise

Does anyone know the time of day this avalanche occurred? Was there an Avalanche Bulletin available for this area? If yes, anyone know the details? Thank you for your help. Glad everyone escaped!

If you slow down the video it appears that the guy is Airborne on the sled at the 52 seconds mark and slams back into the ground and then falls off looks like he hit the ground pretty damn hard 😬

Gives me the chills. It’s absolutely impossible to explain unless you’ve been in one. The most unimaginable feeling of helplessness and panic I’ve ever had. I know stay calm and keep your head about you, but until you’ve experienced it, you have no idea. I’ve been lucky three times, but two of my friends have not been. Sure am glad to see a great outcome with this. Be safe out there fellow backcountry riders. It’s not something to chance or risk (but seems like we did for years looking back) ...the people who have been caught know exactly what I’m talking about. I won’t say he deserved it, because having experienced it, I wouldn’t wish that on anyone....but if he wasn’t wearing a helmet he’s a dip shit.

Did these riders do anything to assess the avalanche conditions, or dig a simple pit?

That seems pretty wreckless snowmobiling on overhanging snow.

Surprised there is still a dragon that runs!

Hey what did you do today? Oh not much just tried to kill my buddy by climbing the same hill he was climbing.
