That's not why people miss it. People in War Thunder automatically scan for tank silhouettes with a large gun first and foremost. You drive past a street where you know there are environment vehicles, your brain might not register this one, or something like a Wiesel as most other tanks and even light vehicles are considerably larger with a distinct profile you can pick up even in your peripheral. People do that in real life too if they're looking for something they've not used to handling on a daily basis, thsy often miss it and overlook it even when it's literally in front of you until you actually focus on that particular point. Also the fact remains that it's so fast it makes it into enemy spawn before they managed to even leave it so nobody pays attention as they assume nothing will be there. R3 used to be like that but it's a very common vehicle and fairly unique looks wise and people actually expect it and look out for it, but nobody looks out for this Toyota as it's not really a threat to ground targets. Wiesel as well is very good at this, because it's fairly new to the game, people aren't conditioned to look out for it, I've literally had people drive right past me as they most likely think it's a random environmental vehicle/prop until they stop and focus on it

Aye I was having that issue too until I realized that the enemy tank is always an inch or so below the name tag when it pops up so even if idk if I can pen or not I just shoot and half the time I get the kill. I was wondering how people were killing me through all sorts of bushes and trees and shit but you just aim a little below the name tag and that’s where the tank is lol. Took me years to realize that
