Rest in peace, legend.. We will never forget you.

I heard this song when my son of 12 turning 13 was suffering with an eating disorder and was being treated in Denver Co. He died last week, 19, of that black dark depression he could not escape. The am of his funeral this week, I asked him for help to get thru. I turned the stereo on in the house...and 10 seconds later this song played. My oldest daughter informed me of the beautiful artist and his similar fate at 20. He, like my son, were perfectionist. Know they hear us... and all are at peace. The darkness they felt in this world has been defeated by a great light, and darkness cannot win out over the light. Light won... like a candle in a dark room. Reach out for help if you are suffering and I expect Avichi has saved many people and I hope my son saves one, two, three, etc. They are awake, as their darkness that most of us can't believe to understand on earth, has lost to the light, and they will never suffer again. We lost them once on earth, but will have them forever after this short time. Bless Avichi for his wonderful talent...and bless and remember his family, too.

You know, I'm pretty sure that this comment will be buried under tons of others, and probably not even be read. But despite the fact that Avicii is gone, he's truly not. The memories that he's built in all of us will stay there. Just seeing the people in the concert enjoying themselves. Fulfilling their lives, makes me happy. Because Avicii did too. These times that he has created. Not developed, but made. Avicii has put something in me that will last. And when it's time for me to take my last breaths. The moments will flash by. One of them sparking this song up again. So don't be sad because Avicii's gone. Be happy that he existed. That he was here. Corona isn't helping us at all, but at least this is one fish of positivity, in an ocean of memories. And one of these magnificent days... He's gonna wake up when it's all over.

The fact this song is almost 10 years old scares me. The world is a shitty place right now, wake me up when it's all over.

My son passed away two Decembers ago. My wife was so stricken with grief she didn't know how to process his passing because he was our first and her only child. I was driving to the hospital when this song came on and I told her I imagine this song is exactly how we should celebrate him. And now everytime we both hear this song the waterworks flow but they come from a much better place now than back then. The catharsis is unreal.

We need Avicii in a time like this. We all miss you. I was only 4 when this song came out. I can't believe it's really about to be 11 years old this June. It feels like yesterday.
