Cale Makar, Alexander Georgiev, & Jared Bednar Press Conference after Avalanche 3-2 Shootout Loss to the New York Rangers. Cale Makar didn't know Nathan MacKinnon didn't get a point & also said, “We’re finishing the season run with a lot of playoff teams which is good for us. Obviously we can get a tune up, but I still think there's a lot of good things that we can take out of tonight.” Alexandar Georgiev on Nathan MacKinnon, “He’s been scoring every game… I'm sure he was more concerned about us winning and making the playoffs.” Jared Bednar said, “It was a well played hockey game by both teams.”

Shootout with Shesterkin vs. Georgiev is NOT 50/50. Georgiev is not in the same league as Shesterkin. He's still very good, but not a Veznia contender like Shesterkin.

a goal got disallowed the other night for this exact same scenario. The refs need to be more consistent.

@@snovalleymama No argument there! Refs sometimes appear to not know what to call. I don't mind overturning calls, if its the right call. I also believe refs are "homers" at times not calling penalties or calling way too many. I thought and believe the glove is like a skate, if its not redirecting it, deliberately, its just a deflection. Its not like IT went it, it deflected to Krieder who put it in. There was no hand movement. I think Jared was pulling out the stops. However, both unassisted goals Nate and Kakko shud have gotten assists.

As a long time Ranger's fan, that watched Georgiev's SV% drop in every consecutive year of the 5 years we had him, I can tell you that the Avs never, and I mean never...win a Cup with him in net.

As a ranger fan, I’ll have to disagree. I think georgiev is a legit starting goaltender. Is he the best in the league? No. A top 5? No, he’s not but he’s def solid enough. In my opinion, recently down the stretch he’s looked over played and tired

@@walterneville2625 yeah fair enough - hasn’t looked great thus far but was solid the other night. For whatever reason, georgiev always plays out of his mind when he plays against the rangers and was a solid backup for us.

The puck didnt hit the glove. See the overhead angle at the mid line. you will see it hits the forearm.

Silly Coaches Review of NYR “gloved” goal; Video review shows NHL called it correctly. Odd risk of penalty. Some of the leagues best Goalies come out of NYR.

Great game. I hate shootouts even though Rangers won. They should go back to 1 pt each if no overtime winner

ranger fan here, this season I watch all the games with the opposing broadcast and the Avs have been my favorite so far, rycroft was hilarious but man I haven't seen so many grown men cry about someone not getting an assist. After such a good game and after your team losses, all they did was talk about not getting the assist, streak and all I thought it was very wierd

I do that too cuz i like to listen to the favoritism.. Colorado and Boston announcers are the most ridiculous home team announcers .. they’ll make any excuse they can why their teams should get the calls

@@coloradofamily8928If it's a player on my team, absolutely. If it's a classy player like MacKinnon, sure... except when playing against my team, as was the case here. And while I would have been happy for him if he kept the streak going, I was even more happy the Rangers were able to end it. When you shut someone like that down, you have to be proud of the accomplishment.

Only if the officials made a mistake. The rule has never changed, as far as I know. Once Lindgren poked the puck into the net, the last Av to touch the puck gets an unassisted goal.

MacKinnon is not only a great player, but he's a classy guy, and that was a helluva streak. So I can understand the disappointment. But yeah, I'm sure he'd tell you right now he's more upset with the loss, and far more concerned with the team continuing to play well and perhaps win the West.
