Great reaction. I think Joakim recorded his parts when Sabaton were in Japan at the end of October 2018 and they were supporting BABYMETAL at their Dark Night Carnival shows. He has said when he was recording it they kept asking him to go harder and harder so he nearly lost his voice by the time he was finished - he doesn't normally sing quite like this. Sabaton mainly sing about historical battles and deeds of bravery etc. They have invited BABYMETAL to join them on their tour of the UK and Europe (which was postponed from last year) in April and May as special guests. 'Oh! Majinai' is a great fun live song (you can see how much Su, Moa and Momoko were enjoying themselves too) and the mosh pits all turn into big circles of people dancing round with their arms round each others shoulders. There are several different cultures who might have a claim to the choreo from Russian and eastern European and even some Irish 'Riverdance' thrown in perhaps. The melody is based on a Finnish polka. I think Flugelhorn Old Man summed it up best when he described it as "Europe-ish".

Kind of surprising that you don't already know Sabaton, they're one of THE big power metal bands. Apparently this song is one of Su-metal's favourites to sing live, and since they are going on tour with Sabaton in April and May, there is a high chance that it will be on the set list.

You can see on Su's happy face that this is one of her favorite songs to perform live. As Grington correctly said, Joakim said in an interview that he was asked to go harder and harder during the recording, which he struggled with since this is not his "normal" singing style. I can't wait for the Sabaton tour in April/May when Babymetal will be the special guest, and I will see them live twice; YAY!

After the world premiere of this song on Jan. 25, 2020 (I was there !), Su and Moa complained jokingly that every audience did not see the girls dancing but watched gigantic Joakim on the backdrop 😄 . "Oh! Majinai" has dual meanings. Japanese word "omajinai" simply means a good luck charm or magical spell. But if you separate the word into two parts you will find different meaning. "Maji nai" means "seriously impossible" or "absolutely no", the phrase used by young people. This song is a little bit controversial. Many European fans are claiming the origin of this song. Irish, Russian, Swedish, Polish, Czech and Finnish. From a neutral position as a Japanese, I can say this is Europe-ish 🤔 . (FYI. This song was performed twice in Russia in 2020. Tens of hyped audiences did shoulder-to-shoulder circle pits. And a guy in St. Petersburg danced Cossack style in the center of the friendly pit. Cossack dance is originated from Ukraine. Sabaton is a band who do songs about wars and fighting, but they found a good way to do it, they don't glorify war, they honor heroes and bravery. They actually have a second channel which explains all the back story of the songs, etc. and whole other parts of related history. Not my favorite BM, but Su says it's one of her fav.s. I would highly recommend BM's homage to Bollywood, Shanti, Shanti, Shanti. There some very good "Live" Pro-shot videos, including Awadama Fever, Yava and especially Shanti. It focuses in on the girls fantastic dance routine, and it won't get blocked.

Su said that this is her favourite song from the Metal Galaxy album. For me personally, it's my least favourite in their whole catalogue. But I will not deny that it's great fun live. Who could not feel great when they see the girls smiling and dancing like that.

Many fans don't care too much about this song as it may feel a little corny or too repetitious for them but NO ONE can say they don't have fun when they are there in concert and experiencing it LIVE. I for one love it as it is fun. It is very fun and I laugh when I see Moa making faces and they are all smiling so much. I'll still blast this in my car. 🤘🦊🤘
