The shop owner saw what those two dudes were doing, and they were for sure. Taking you to a good spot to extort you. That shop owner knew what those two clowns were trying to do. While at the time it was probably frustrating, you shouldn't just brush off every person that tells you to not go. We all want the cool video, but none of us want you to get hurt or die doing it.

I really liked Richard and his cousin. They did a great job keeping Kurt alive and well, while also explaining interesting stuff. You could really see it. Like making sure they were on each side of him while walking. Putting him beside the wall and one of them while eating. These two and the shown store owners who looked out for Kurt are awesome people! I'm going to be honest I did not see a lot of the signs other viewers saw. Like the marking and that stuff, but I got an uneasy feeling when the female shop owner said she was watching the first two dudes he was with.

You better get some money to that dude who quite possibly saved your life and absolutely saved you from getting robbed of everything you own.

Being a buenos aires native i can't depict how lucky this guy was, the sheer stupidity of ignoring the locals is outstanding, later the production clearly paid for a secure tour with the primos.

Kurt's naivety forced that heroic shopkeeper into singling himself out for danger by stepping in to protect him and Kurt didn't even say thank you. There's a fine line between brave and arrogant / ignorant and Kurt well and truly crossed it in this video - he deserves what he gets at this point.

One of the scariest moments of my entire life was when I was in college I did a study abroad in Buenos Aires and we were out drinking at a pub. The party ended up at some guys house in a random neighborhood and the people I was with decided to stay over. I wanted to go back to the hotel, and after hours of drinking wasn’t in the best mindset. I just left and started walking. The streets were completely dark and absolutely nobody was in the street, I was passing by boarded up houses, and had a knot in my stomach. After what felt like hours of walking past homeless people I somehow found a taxi but didn’t have enough money to get back to the main plaza in Buenos Aires. The cab driver said, “don’t worry about it, but you need to get out of here.” And took me all the way back to the hotel. I still remember that guy, and how he probably saved my life. If I ever were to run into him again, I would take him out to dinner and pay his bills for a month.

Kurt this advice is coming from a retired 40 year Federal LEO, that worked narcotics, listen to the locals, those shop owners saved your life, if you keep trying those stunts you will eventually become a victim, we want to see your videos we don’t want you rob, injured or dead. I'm going to speak from the place of a native argentinian that felt like passing out every single time you put yourself in a dangerous situation: if you're a tourist don't feel timid, the locals will understand your situation and try to welcome you.. but also, know your place and understand what you're doing. if someone experienced tells you to not do something, you DON'T do it. I'm glad you didn't get hurt during the filming of this video, but IF something happened (not only to you, but your guides too) then all the argentinians would have to feel ashamed, but you know what? they were telling you the entire time DON'T DO THIS, DON'T DO THAT, and you didn't listen. good content, bad decisions. 👍🏻

The line between being friendly and being stupidly naive is very thin. You are massively discounting risks. Good people warned you, the store owner literally had to move between you and the robbers, and your response is "They didn't even let me?"

For someone so street savvy I expected Kurt to know better. That first attempt into the villa almost ended in a bad situation and was only averted by the shop owner at the end insisting he not go all the way to the end. At least he smartened up and got a guide and even then, it was slightly dangerous.

I’d love if you could somehow repay that shop worker back for quite literally saving you. You can tell that man is a honest and caring guy living in a harsh environment and the fact he was even willing to get physical with the men just too make you realise that’s a true man right there.

100% the older store owner knew what those guys had in mind and did not want to see anything happen. It shows that good people are still all around in high n low places. I'd suggest to think about your surroundings and who your with next time when someone is trying to tell you don't go. I’ve been tracked like Kurt before when I moved to a small town in the U.S. Like him in the second half of this video, I’m so glad I had 2 people that were street-smart & well-respected in town.

This one of things that blew me away about Argentina, if you travel frequently you can get a good sense of people and risk. I have found myself in many places in Argentina where locals actively watch your back : similar stories on feed. I’m from UK and the first time I visited my elderly parents said they were very concerned for my saftey. I always talk about the immigration official that stamped my passport. I have NEVER arrived in any country with such a really positive and heartfelt welcome. Every city has the usual scams and risks, but generally the people are incredibly warm and want to show you the country they are proud of. 🇦🇷

The amount of times I saw Kurt almost get robbed from behind... from the boys on the bicycle, to the persons following him or changing directions to follow them, and even the police trailing him and alerting others to his presence.. wow. Keep safe bro.
