I wouldn't characterize the remaining veteran edge market as thin. In fact, most of those names made significantly more money last year than Clowney did. I would not be surprised if one of them signed for a minimal amount, got 9 sacks, and then got 20 million somewhere else next year. That has now become a long trend.

I feel foolish, I was working last night and clicked something Ravens related saw a Clowney deal for 2yrs 20M and thought it was Ravens that got him because that’s a reasonable deal. Definitely don’t need yannick, I feel like the last pass rusher allowed to be just a pass rusher was E.Dumervil. Everyone else has to be complete, meaning play the run, set the edge at times, pass rush, and even drop into coverage. Yannick doesn’t give all of that. It is a shame. Wanted Clowney for over 4 years. Finally get him for one year and he kills it here. Can’t blame the dude for chasing the bag but it really isn’t what was best for him.
