Hanbok has been worn and developed steadily for 5,000 years in Korean history. The basic form of Hanbok is pants/skirt+jacket (top clothing). The original form of Hanbok was established during the Goryeo Dynasty, which refers to the pre-Joseon dynasty. In other words, the Joseon Dynasty is the last dynasty in Korea. Gyeongbokgung Palace in this video is also a palace dating back to the Joseon Dynasty. Until the mid-Goryeo period, clothes were fastened with a belt, not a ribbon, but the top became shorter during the Goryeo period, making it difficult to fasten with a belt, so a ribbon was used to secure clothes.(There are claims that ribbons came from Mongolia, but clothes tied with ribbons have been found since the Silla Dynasty, before the Goryeo Dynasty.) Also, during the Goryeo Dynasty, China had a country called Yuan (Mongolia). After the war between Mongolia and Goryeo, as exchanges between Goryeo and Mongolia became more active, Goryeo's culture began to become popular among Mongolians, calling it "Goryeoyang." The clothes of the Ming Dynasty were strongly influenced by the Hanbok of Goryeo. Hong Chi-je(, the emperor of the Ming Dynasty, was aware of this fact and banned Korean traditional clothes. But these things don't mean that all hanboks were influenced by China or originated from China. As a person who studies history, I respect and love China's tremendous history and culture. But China's distorted view of history is unacceptable. When you read videos or writings introducing hanbok on the Internet, Chinese people appear and say that hanbok is from China. But this is a lie. They create a history that does not exist, insulting Hanbok, and claiming that Korean culture belongs to China. Close countries are bound to interact with each other. In Hanbok, there is Dan-ryeong who has been imported from China, and just as China's Ming Doubles (Hanfu) originated from Hanbok, we need to consider this interaction. People who don't know much about the history of East Asia often have a stereotype that China delivered all the cultures. But I want to say this. The Korean Wave did not happen out of nowhere.
