My reasonable estimate for how much Kita spent on that bass goes like this. Say allowance is around $10 a week (1500 yen) which means about $40 a month and $480 in a year. Kita spent 2 years advance allowance plus her New Years Money to purchase the bass. A reasonable amount of New Years gift money to me would be around $100 (15000 yen), so in my mind Kita probably spent a little over $1000 or 150,000 yen for the bass. I can clearly see why Kita-chan is no longer with us lol.

The humor of this anime is too cute, the characters know how to stand out in their own way.

I swear Hitori is the most relatable character ever

It's funny how much Kita and Bocchi are so alike despite being practically and visually total mirror opposites of one another. They even share similar "animation styles" when in moments of high stress. Bocchi is obviously much more animated than Kita much more frequently, but Kita is the only other member of Kessoku Band to outright mimic some of Bocchi's expressions or get animated in such crazy and detailed ways when having breakdowns. Hell, the show makes a point of highlighting this in a later episode. Obviously Nijika and Ryo have their moments, but when they get stylistic, it's usually done in a more simplistic and chibi style of animation, like you'd expect from slice of life characters in a slice of life anime, unless it's shown from Bocchi's perspective. Cat ears, big heads and eyes, and snappy animation. I don't remember either of them doing what you see Kita doing here (going completely squiggly, having her soul come out of her body to talk for her, etc.). But Kita really seems to be closest to Bocchi in terms of stylistic animation moments (close being a relative term).

kita's "gah" is perfect

I love the way they do visual humor along with tsukkomis and bokes in this, its just so hilarious and the animation is really good on top making it even more expressive

The exchange of looking back and forth at each other is funny, and her sound at 1:02 is just the cherry on top.

I love how the idiosyncratic humor further brings out the charm in these characters.

One of the things I like about this show is that despite being a "Cute Girls Doing Cute Things" anime they are not afraid to make the characters go off model in order to sell a joke.

A reminder than Bocchi's real life guitar is a vintage Gibson Les Paul worth about £6000 (or around $7300). It's a 1957 Les Paul Custom in Ebony with 2 pickups.

I love this show. It is cute, relatable, funny, and entertaining. The wriggly character animations at embarrassing moments are great.

The sound of the bass strings is a nice touch. It goes well with the music lol

Hitoribocchi and K-On had a baby and it is fun. Plus the animation style gives it another good heaping dose of visual humor.

So pay attention people: when somebody criticizes Bocchi The Rock because there are no villains elsewhere, you can remember them there is that music store clerk who sold a six-string bass to Kita by deceiving her into telling she was buying a legit electric guitar.

The look back and forth with the change of expressions was so good.

When I bought my first electric guitar and then I was able to buy my amp, it took me about three months to realize that it was a bass amp. When I wanted to play solos, I thought because the high strings couldn't be heard and I thought it was a defective amp, later because of images in internet, specifically due to the lack of certain knobs and buttons, I realized that it was not the correct amp

I love how Bocchi just floats in a figure-eight with that adorable "Eh heh heh" laugh.

Maybe it's a good thing that Bocchi inherited her dad's guitar. I inherited the guitar Bocchi bought (the Yamaha pacifica) so I didn't waste my money on the most expensive guitar I could get before I had even learned.

How the _hell_ do these girls walk into a guitar shop and _not_ get advice from one of the staff. They tend to jump on you pretty quick.

I bought jazz drums when I wanted to learn to play heavy metal & hard rock, but this is impossible... You would know immediately because of the string gauge & tone~

Joke aside, it's almost impossible to buy a bass by mistake because you very obviously will ask the store clerk that you want a guitar and they will guide you, even if you buy it online, the description would still say 6-string bass or something like that.

As sad as this was I think it was probably for the best that she started with a Bass. While mistakes are notable and easy to find with a very trained ear, guitar comes off as much lounder in a set and can really stand out. A good bass player can tie the sound of guitar and bass together so that you can barely hear which one is which. Ryo and Bochi could definetly make up for any mistakes and make it work in the long. That being said, good job Kita! I believe in you😂❤

all instruments made sense for me in bocchi except Kita's guitar. Bocchi's guitar is 6k but she got it from her father, Ryo's bass is around 1.4k, she is from rich family and spent all her money on instruments so it made sense. Nijika used drums from her sister's live house, also it wasn't a crazy expensive set. Kita on the other hand just magically got a 6k guitar after selling her bass to Ryo which is around 1k.
