EVA(Ethylene Vinyl Acetate) is an encapsulant for solar Cells/ Modules. It is a polymer film which acts as an essential encapsulant of photovoltaic solar modules for ensuring the reliability and performance.
Properties of EVA ?
EVA is an elastomeri co-polymer that produces materials which are "rubber-like" in softness and flexibility. The material has good clarity and gloss, low-temperature toughness, stress-crack resistance, hot-melt adhesive waterproof properties.
The front surface of a PV module must have a high transmission in the wavelengths which can be used by the solar cells in the PV module. For silicon solar cells, the top surface must have high transmission of light in the wavelength range of 350 nm to 1200 nm , means UV-resistant properties.
