Dayton viewers were rightly upset. The same thing happened in the 1960s Art Fleming Jeopardy with a answer involving my hometown of Louisville. Three geographically deficient contestants each were wrong in a similar question, leaving us a little indignant.

Damn. I vocally yelled “What?!” when Columbus was revealed to have been incorrect. Columbus does have an Airport named after Eddie Rickenbacker so I thought a base would have named for the Wrights was nearby.

I have family that lives just out of kitty hawk and that's in north Carolina not Ohio. She's thinking of their first flight which was in kitty hawk

Yeah, I don't get the hate here. It's not like Dayton is called "Planetown" or "Birthplaceofflightthisistheanswer City." It's not common knowledge outside of Ohio. I've never even heard of WPAFB let alone known where it is. As for the Kitty Hawk answer, it seems dumb when you're watching at home but this was the first question so nobody is warmed up and the pressure is on in a show where your hand on the buzzer and mouth needs to be faster than your brain so that you can answer first and that results in taking what you know immediately and for most, it's that Kitty Hawk was the first flight so even having Ohio in the question, it makes sense that she saw city and Wright and guessed Kitty Hawk but I guarantee that without anyone reacting to her response, Emily immediately mentally would have been facepalming as soon as her brain caught up to what she said.
