I've never been a hardcore LP fan to be honest. My ex best friend used to listen to them all the time though, and I know plenty of their songs - I fondly remember her turning on their live dvd from texas 2003 whenever we hung out. I never listened to the newer albums either, because I just stopped listening to other than the stuff they play on the radio, and got lost in the generic stuff. So I haven't been listening to other than that for a long time now. Which I regret. Those songs say nothing compared to what LP has to offer, and other bands in the rock genre and so on. Because of that I feel kinda bad for mourning Chester, why? I don't know. Maybe because "you never appreciate things until it's gone". I feel bad because I never took the time to look up and support the new things they made - I just never took the time. And time is a valuable thing, right? I feel sick to be one of those who mourns Chester but never appreciated him for what he made today, and not only the old stuff which I remember from my teens. Chesters passing hit me HARD, like really hard to be honest - for not being a "hardcore LP-fan". I've been feeling down for a couple of days now since his passing, only it took me a few days to really process what had happened. I've been thinking about my relationship with LPs music, and about his family and friends which he left behind. He seemed to be such a good, genuine, caring person and an inspiration for so many people, and I find it so heartbreaking to loose such an individual, especially in the way the world lost Chester. I've been crying, alot - and I've never reacted so hard to a "celebrity" passing on. But Chester was different, he touched so many, and it is so sad that our shitty world has lost another individual that makes life a bit better for people - not to talk about his family and friends who lost a loved one. I still find it hard to grasp that he is gone, and I really feel that am missing a piece of myself for some reason, which, as I mentioned before, is strange since I never labeled myself as a "hardcore LP-fan". But he did indeed touch me through their music in some way, obviously. I feel an incredible guilt and emptiness. RIP Chester. You are missed.

anile. You literally said exactly what I've been going through. We are the same in pretty much everything. Chester is the 1st celebrity I've ever cried over as well. I wish I had kept up with them too. I only listened to "Numb" and "In the end" because those songs really described me at a certain point. The last time I heard "Numb" was when I was out with my friend last weekend. As soon as it came on I completely jammed out again because that song applied so much to my life and I relived those emotions. It was then 4 days later he passed away, and everything came flooding back. All the emotions were mostly full of shock, confusion, and guilt, because up until that point I never checked out his newest songs to listen to. It's because of that that I never realized how much he was truly hurting and how much those songs still apply to my life. It's clear to say that this past week and even now I'm still completely torn over him and I too have cried a lot. After listening to his One More Light album, in addition to his other albums, it feels like I lost a friend that I never gave enough time to be around for. I feel like I don't deserve to be crying over him like this but at the same time after listening and learning to all that he went through, how can one not cry over him? I just hope that by now he has found peace, wherever he may be. And I hope you can find peace within yourself too with not feeling bad about not listening/being a super-fan like other people. You're not alone.

anile. it's almost like reading my own story. I had barely known his last name before I read the news headline saying "Chester Bennington dies..." and it really hit me harder then I thought it would. I feel ashamed that I didnt care more, that I didnt keep track with LP music, that I didnt go to any of their concerts.. Since his death, one day hasnt gone by that I wouldnt think about him and the stuff that he had to go through to make this decision, and also trying to understand why.. Me too.. It's been hard to process.. I am a grown man unaffected by most things but I find myself on the brink of tears anytime I think about it or listen to their music. Amazing how he touched so many of our lives in such a personal way we feel as though a family member died. Wish there was something we could of done for him.

Cameron Dombroski yes, it became a personal loss for so many people... I think we did save him in a way all of this years when he was channeling his demons trough music we ended up loving. But even if the odds seem to be in favor, there are battles that can't be won. Sooner or later our battle will come too.
