@@tay185 it seems like the company that was in charge of Portal is not longer involved. And now basically noone is making new content/maps for portal. Probably because of BF2042’s poor reception etc

There's another dev team Ridgeline Games and they are literally making narrative campaign set in the battlefield universe. It will probably be separate from the actual multiplayer game.

Hmm I’m not that convinced by your opinion. BF is half way between arcade and milsim. People may want regular skins to look like normal soldiers and still enjoy the pace of an arcade shooter. It’s understandable

Then after the free to play weekend, there were at least 10 or so cheaters all in one day, every single server I played in multiple people were blatantly rage cheating. Since then, I've noticed there being at least 1 or 2 every other round. When I report these people, I still get emails from EA stating "Thank you for your support, we took actions against a player you recently reported. We can't give names, etc. etc.". It's definitely still a huge problem in 2042, and if you look at BFV, it's nothing but literally rage hacking every other game in almost every server.

@@willfullyinformed Yeah, no. BF5 is a trashpile they removed the anticheat for, that's a horrible comparison lol Just got done with 3 rounds of 2042 and no cheaters.

@@dreccasawa9975 That would only work if the team worked together and it stopped ALL types of explosives; people very rarely work together because there's virtually no incentives for all the selfish players, and crossplay doesn't help being mixed in with couch potatoes. 128 players concentrated on one area defending/attacking, or even 64 players, will just be a nightmare-fest as usual. The game is nearly ruined with explosive and lock-on spam on its own, no amount of excuses change that. The game has a massive balance issue and it's far worse in this regard than any Battlefield game to date. This, plus the worst/cheapest servers in all of gaming history that feel like 1 tick rate servers, never updating your hitbox position, dying around corners and behind cover, lack of registry... and some of the worst netcode ever.

The dev team made it possible foe the trailer tram to do this...

@Mr Pickles this game is a ton of fun and offers a lot more minute to minute variety due to all the unique gadgets and traits. I loved thos older games too, but I don't play them anymore because they're boring now. Seen it all done it all. You're entitled to your opinion but I'm having as much fun as I've had since bf3/bf4.

@@chrisrowe2308 dude what... you do realize that all the gadgets used by "specialists" are straight from BF4... they just decided that only certain specialists can have access to certain gadgets (ie Irish has the APS, but no one else) in BF4 the support class could use the APS in conjunction with a motor... which I'm wondering, is the mortar in 2042 now?

No hard-core doubt there ever will be , scoreboard here since forever, playing with your squad was never an issue, class system is in the game

Don’t know about the scoreboard other than it’s different than other titles. You can’t switch teams, you can’t switch squads, no hardcore mode is in the game. Classes are now in the game but they’re not like they were in any previous game. Specialists still throw things off and ruin the more traditional experience. I bought the game for $10 and was still left disappointed

No hardcore, no team swapping, you can't even see a list of squads on your team for some reason. If you go to change squads it puts you in a random or new squad with only you in it. Class system is mostly back to normal with the specific characters being locked to classes. Joining friends is good 95% of the time, there have been a few times where I get put on the opposite team of my friend. I put about 50 hours into it in the last 2 weeks and overall I would say the game is fine, just don't pay more than $30 for it.

Hardcore is there but it only appears as part of the official portal experience and so it's part of a weekly rotation. So it only appears by chance since every week portal only has like 2 modes. Class system is back but the only difference is you can still use any primary weapon across all classes. Sounds like it's busted but to be fair,in battlefield 4 you were able to use DMRs,carbine rifles and shotguns across all classes so I see it as very similar

The game is mostly fixed now. Balance changes and squad management are the 2 biggest items on the to-do list.

Only 2 maps left, then they have reworked all the original maps.

PS. All other BF had no problems showing off several of the same classes in the same scene, i gues DICE also thinks like me that it is absurd that all individual characters ARE the same on BOTH sides, not just look alike in uniform but ARE the SAME person 😂

I just switch to Lis and try take down the choppers with her tv missile (it takes stealth and bird chopper down with 1 hit) when my team seems uninterested in doing so.. Gotten pretty good at doing it.

90% of bf4's weapons were either redundant or outright worthless so not too worried about them not adding assault rifle 12 and smg 15 and sniper 8 to the game.
