You do realize that jury votes practically also by the blocks, right? And the juries can be and, in a fact, were manipulated in a couple of Eurosong contests.

@@justinian-the-great How can you compare whatever alleged jury shenanigans take place to the ridiculous neighbor voting? Even we in Iceland weren't exempt from that, I hated that we kept giving Denmark 12 points no matter how bad their entries were. It's way better the way it is now, with 50/50, we get the best of both worlds.

I mean if your first neighbor candidates for being president would you vote for him? Probably you would. The problem that Westerners have with neighbor votes is that it doesn't happen in Western Europe. Why? Because simply they have no good relations with their neighbors. The truth is that Britain, for example, isn't loved by anyone of it's neighbors and more or less from anyone from the entire continent. Meanwhile the Eastern Europe developed that concept of friendship between nations, something that West can never understand. Western countries simply do not have friends. And by that I don't mean political friends. If you are, again for example, British or German and you go to another country you won't be as nearly as welcomed as, for example, Serbian who goes to Russia. Western nations simply have that lack of feeling for friendship as Easterners, especially Slavs, have. So let friends vote for friends and you vote for whoever you want to vote.
