Thank you for highlighting that people with autism can have immense empathy. I was speaking to a romantic interest the other day, and I noticed that he started using the phrase "our gym" instead of "insert gyms actual name". I found it odd because i immediately felt closer to him and recognised it as a subtle kind of love bombing. Then I wondered if I was being hypervigilant. In regard to sociopath or narcissists, systematically using specific language that they know "works", this makes perfect sense now.

I’ve been fascinated by nonverbal communication for years and have studied with who I thought were the top 6, but Annie has a high level of emotional intelligence that levels it up tremendously. I love how she backs it up with science because it’s hard not to dismiss EQ as woo woo. Emotions are so easy to dismiss as immeasurable or subjective, finally science is catching up to one of the most fundamental pieces of human experience.

@@infinite10045 I’ll check out Gavin De Becker. Have to disagree with your assumption that reading people doesn’t work. If you check your biases and ego and know yourself it’s fairly straightforward once you learn from good teachers. Most people don’t take the time to really understand the nuance and take a “rule” from a 30 second video and try to apply it. So yeah, in those cases they are projecting or often wrong. But micro expressions are real, the study of universal non verbal communication is legit. And having enough sense to know they’re experiencing an emotional but you don’t know why requires maturity. When you see it used effectively it’s awesome.

40:41 To me it doesn't matter if they are good, have good intentions if they are traumatized. All of the ones I dealt with had deep trauma, and both the "good" ones and darker ones were bad to deal with. They're both disorganized and will gaslight will, no matter if they believe their own lies or if they make up some to control you. They all try to control, and this is damaging in any relationship. I'd just run away and go no contact, with no guilt. You can't fix a broken person and you'll end up broken as well. It'll take some years for you to recover from their madness.

Two things I want to point out; this is why they tried to force face masks on us. Expression is our first form of communication as humans. Second, children who come from emotionally abusive homes, learned this at a really young age, so you know exactly when you will want to avoid the abusive parent & make yourself invisible.

Essentially: If something SHOCKS you, you will see that in a micro expression. If you don't feel an emotional reaction to something you wouldn't give anything away. Adhd, autists, psycopaths etc will know this emotional regulation. I have literally by accident laughed at a story of a dead dog because I was thinking of something else during. You have no clue what the other person is thinking. You just see their expressions.
