I'm sure it had to do will his original contract before it was a netflix film. Warner bros offered him a huge budget and whatever he wanted to do without any interference after the loss of his daughter. When it moved to netflix I'm sure that was still part of the deal.

That's a part of why they left warner bros for netflix. But the offer was originally made months after his daughter passed. Proof? The daughter ruined the movie, the idea of her rescuing the other stupid woman and then she dies in the helicopter.. ROFL.. should have been written where the daughter is motivated by something else and not the lady being dumb and going in. The idea where the guy cuts off the Alpha chicks head off.. ughh generic idea.. im like yup.. Alpha zombie is going to attack now. At that point i knew almost everyone was going to die. Why not go more in debth about time travel? Solid 6 out of 10.

Warm Bodies was a great story concept actually. I liked liked the main lead. Nicholas Hoult, right?! 🤔 He was good, in any case, lol, but problem is: I just didn't care about anybody else, IDK. 🤷🏻‍♀️😕 I guess his friend was kinda funny but I still didn't care if we got a sequel or whatever. I didn't care if the story continued beyond that. I can't say the same about Army of the Dead! With AoTD, I still got questions, and I'm excited for the franchise to continue! 🤓🙌🏼🧟‍♀️ But I hear what you are saying... Warm Bodies was still pretty good, afterall. It DID have heart, I'll give it that. And it's not like AoTD didn't have some story flaws too. (I think we're all in agreement that Dave Bautista's daughter was a buzzkill.) But there's just so, so much more to work with, with a movie like this. So many more places the story can go, etc. 😏 I can't wait. Did you peep those 2 UFO's at the very beginning of the film?! There's definitely more than just the regular-schmegular Zombie lore going on here...

I haven't watched the movie but you just made a valid point. Zombie genre are dying cos it's stale, nothing new you haven't seen before. But Zack took a gamble by trying to reinvent the genre. From the reviews he did well.

I guess they explained it away with them being somewhat controlled by Zeus but Tanaka not being able to provide them a way into the safe of his casino was odd unless those measures would be reset during power reboot or it's his password to other things lol. Not having a plan to get the money out was stupid too. Seems like they couldve had the top of the building bombed out rather than restricting flight in but saying it's fine to fly out cuz they are nuking the place. Couldve just found an unlocked rout thru the city and played out the events in reverse with deaths coming towards the end and more money making it out with a few survivors. Idk still want sequel.
