Only one guy jeopardized much that was Loma. Got caught with his pants down off a 14 month layoff with what appears to be a training camp injury and pissed away all his hard work just so this kid could get all the glory in one fight. If that kid loses then he just lost to the best and wasn’t ready and can move on. If this kid doesn’t rematch Loma then Loma gotta go after all the belts again whether that be at 135 after this bitch vacates and runs off to 140 or at 130. This kid got 3 belts in one fight acting like he did something special. Got his head bounced around like a beach ball in the second half and dudes act like he clowned Loma. Shit pisses me off. Loma did more in 15 fights than that kid will do his whole career. Don’t worry. Loma ain’t done.

I honestly think this fight is of HUGE importance just for boxing in general, we want the best to fight the best.. But I think Loma had no choice but to fight this kid.. he had all the belts and had beaten everyone else so theirs no way he could’ve just declined to fight him, like I said he was the top contender so that’s what champs do.. defend titles against contenders..

i dont like that loma talked about lopez size and reach the reasons why he could not beat lopez, he faced bigger fighters like linares and campbell before and i didnt hear him complain about their size and reach when he beat them, lopez is a really skillful fighter and loma had never faced someone like lopez before thats the reason why he lost

Somethings wrong with this fight, it was for the undisputed status and loma wouldnt let this fight slip so easily, it looked more like a sparring. Its confirmed that Loma had an operation but I think we will see a rematch.

He got the right to talk all the shit he wanted; in a previous interview from 2 years ago he said "I see my son with a belt before his 15th fight and on the 16th he'll beat Loma for all the belts". He literally predicted the future...

May sound like arrogance, possibly is but that man knows boxing and he put his mouth and son's azz on the line and they came through. Can't argue with success. Teo was mentally, physically and psychologically prepared to leave it all in the ring. Loma respected his and speed and power. When he realized he was losing he had to take chances by coming in being the aggressor. There was no other avenue to success. If that had been a 15 round championship fight he may have be KO'd. Lopez admitted he dug deep. That's what wins fights. Great fight. Lopez was the winner...no question. Lomachencko will still be a championship caliber boxer. He just wasn't that night.

But to ur credit most of Lopez punches landed on gloves and im sure they were probably counted. Because if they actually hit on Loma face his face would be all fucked up. On the other hand Lomachenko hit Lopez at will really, anytime he threw it landed on lopez face , so he had thw better punches and more clean. I believe if they were to fight again and Loma decides to step on the gas from start he beats Lopez easily and probably stops him. He ce in with a bad game plan to try to start fighting in the 2 part of the fight

The score cards seem to me unreasonable. Lomachenko had clearly won the later rounds, and in a much more dominant fashion than how Lopez won the earlier rounds.

Normally what big name A side boxers due is get a rematch clause incase they loose (like AJ vs andy) but in that contract it doesn't work the other way around meaning if anthony Joshua wouldve won that fight there would not have been a rematch. So in this situation they beat the shit out of Loma but for some strange reason they didn't have a rematch clause pretty dumb.

Loma has only said he thought he did better than Lopez in the last half of the fight (he did) and that Lopez size and reach were difficult to deal with. We all noted that Lomachenko did well in the latter rounds, but what was significant is that Lopez fell apart when he was forced to fight on the inside. Loma may not get a rematch -- and I think a fight or two first will be useful to work off a little ring rust -- but if he does, Lopez' weakness will not be overlooked by such a skilled strategist as Lomachenko' s father. Or by others.

Loma will come back. True thirsty champions come back. Loma had far better punching stats. He threw fewer than Lopez but hit most of the punches than Lopez did. Had loma started earlier he would have won the match. He just took the wrong method and tactic. I still think loma is a better fighter.

Still don’t understand people saying it was a close fight. Teofimo dominated 8 rds (1-7 & 12), and the later rds when Loma stepped it up were still 50/50. Most you could really give Loma is 4 rds
