The behind the scenes making of Mad Max: Fury Road starring Tom Hardy and Charlize Theron
It showcases some amazing stunts from George Miller's movie.
Synopsis: Mad Max: Fury Road is the fourth film of George Miller's Road Warrior/Mad Max franchise co-written and directed by Miller. The post-apocalyptic action film is set in the furthest reaches of our planet, in a stark desert landscape where humanity is broken, and most everyone is crazed fighting for the necessities of life. Within this world of fire and blood exist two rebels on the run who just might be able to restore order... There's Max, a man of action and a man of few words, who seeks peace of mind following the loss of his wife and child in the aftermath of the chaos. And Furiosa, a woman of action and a woman who believes her path to survival may be achieved if she can make it across the desert back to her childhood homeland.

perhaps they don't so as not to incentivize crazier and crazier stunts that lead people to be less careful and kill someone.
@xfrobie9773
@xfrobie9773 3 роки тому
@@chettlar212 It's more because if they did recognize it that way, the industry as a whole would have to deal with more stunt performers demanding more for their performances. If you're just some nobody that subs in for a big name actor in a few scenes, you don't have any bargaining leverage because they can put a list of other nobodies in your place and no one will ever tell in the final movie.

They probably never will because the morality of incentivising dangerous behaviour is a bit shady. It could lead to doing extremely dangerous stunts just to overtake one another

Real people risking injuries or even worse, real cars with creative design, real explosions, real stunts, attention to detail, commitment, hard work, dedication by everyone to their respective craft. And at the helm an old school director who wouldn't have it any other way, coming decades after his prime to teach modern action directors how it should be done. Nothing but respect for everyone involved in the making of this movie. It's a dying art what they're doing, but the end result proves that, even with all the CGI in the world, some things are just irreplaceable.

24:21 George had just performed one of the most expensive and irreversible stunts in the movie, something that can only be done once, and has to be done correctly. He has to make sure the stunt was a success. And as its happening... he doesnt much care where the truck is landing, all he cares about is if the stunt driver is ok. THATS a good director. George at the moment only cared if the driver was ok instead of getting that perfect shot. He's a good man, a good director.

SO much respect for them doing all of this for real and not with computers. Can't even describe how ridiculously much I missed watching "making of's" like these that aren't all greenscreen shots. Don't get me wrong though; I realize CGI and all that is a great talent on it's own and one that is very impressive when mastered. I do not wish to belittle the work of great talents on that field, but yet I definitely tip my hat to actual stunts like this and it blows my mind how much effort and awesome work goes into creating stunts like this - and it surely adds to the awesomeness and my appreciation of the entire film. It also does show up in the end result... it just has that whole real, genuine can't-quite-put-my-finger-on-it-but-it's-awesome "oomph"-factor to it. Edit: Oh and when I said "all of this", I meant all of these stunts shown on this 'making of', that they did for real. Did not mean to say that the entire movie is actually pulled off entirely without CGI. Bad wording from my part!

This movie had a beautifully crafted thesis and message, the entire film was shrouded and enveloped with profound symbolism, AND its action scenes and aesthetics were one of the primary reasons its thesis was so effective. "None of it defy the laws of physics, it is not people flying noir space vehicles or annything like that" "All the crashes are real crashes all the cars are real cars and all the stunts are real stunts" I have been longing for a major blockbuster crew saying that so we can get a little out of that CG fetish that has completely taken over everything in modern action movies. and this movie does that in style and without compromise.
@Hobbitstomper
@Hobbitstomper 2 місяці тому
New behind the scenes footage shows that all cars in the movie are in fact CGI cars. They built some of those cars practically and filmed with real cars, with real crashes, but were then fully replaced with CGI cars and crashes. Even the "people" falling off the cars, 100% CGI. First you film it practically, and then you replace it with CGI. This way you get a perfect reference for physics, animation, light and interaction with actors. This movie is simply a perfect example of invisible CGI. The reason they say "No CGI", is for advertising purposes. A movie simply sells better when people hear that it's all practically filmed without CGI, even though it's a full on lie.

He captured exactly what he wants to see and thats a pretty in filming on such a massive scale.

Couple of prequels actually, if Miller and WB can work out the details. They are in limbo atm. During filming of this, it took so long that the writers put together the stories for a Max prequel, and a Furiosa prequel.

I saw it twice in movie theaters when it came out and cried every time, including now whenever I see it within the comfort of my own home. I may not remember a lot of movies and directors, even though it's all filmmakers talk about but I'll always remember the kind of movies you make George miller. You really give your whole life to these movies, and those are the kind of people I look forward to working with. Hats off to Margaret Sixel for always fulfilling the editors position.

Massive respect for these guys and George Miller because this is not easy to do. In an age more and more blockbusters feel more "made by committee" and are risk averse, this movie is prime example of trust in the vision of the filmmaker should ALWAYS take priority! Everyone else's job is just to help! Fantastic movie! A new cinematic classic!!
