Not sure why they think their player base is 4-9 years old but, just a reminder- Sims has amassed a fan base over 23 years, meaning your players are likely mid 30s+ to late teens/ early 20s… not elementary school kids. UPDATE/CORRECTION: wow! What an awesome response! I’d like to add that after posting this, it is clear to me that the average player is between 14-60+ with the average falling somewhere in the thirties!! So while millennials may be the majority, the Sims 4 has an even greater older population that’s completely unrepresented by the franchise in favor of attracting a younger audience that could potentially offer greater financial benefit in the short term.

As a 34 year old who has played since Sims 1, I’m so freaking tired of these videos being served to us like we’re 9. The “bombastic side eye” moment had me rolling my eyes into the back of my skull.

"Free to play" is a less harsh way of saying "micro-transactions" and "battle-passes" Edit: Also as a CC creator, I can't see how they are going to allow us to create content for Project Rene, since it will only cause them to lose money

So basically... "Hey, you'll still have sims 4 and we'll make Project Rene so bad, that you'll think sims 4 is better.." that's the vibe I got.

Players: “Can we have fairies,hotels, or a pack refresh?” Sims Team: “No 🥰”

I am pretty much certain that Project Rene will be microtransactioned to hell and back.

To save everybody time; they're adding a waffle maker kit. "Project Rene" is going to be the worst Sims experience as it'll probably be online only and the base game will be free so they can milk us for all DLC, Packs and add ons.

More playable Jobs please 🙏 An Update with Hotels and Tourism would be nice. Hotels, Airbnbs, Bed and Breakfasts, Summercamps, Campingvans,... Holidayactivities, ... New careers ... maybe more playable careers.... an Airport .... Or an Update with more societyliving and Jobs ... Kindergarden, Firedepartments, socialworker, hairsalons, Barbershops, daycare for Kids and Seniors, maybe rentable homes, more small lots , marriage agency, evening colleges for working adults, ubers, delivery services, Datingplattforms... My mind ist full of ideas ❤

the more I hear about project rene, the sadder I get. It feels like a huge departure from the single player experience we all grew to love. While also being a departure from the series formula we have seen moving more towards an even more transaction focused model (which is saying a lot)

I can't wait for the sims to have some competition in this space..

"It won't start with everything that you have in sims 4" "We'll certainly add more content over time in packs" "It's important for us to lower those barriers to play" "Project Rene is not setting out to replace your current awesome Sims experiences" So this is going to be a free to play game with bare minimum content with anything resembling the content that sims4 and 3 have being baby fed to us in microtransactions. Like they said literally weather will be a feature so they can give us weather themed packs. What the heck.

I have a feeling Project Rene will likely be an all online experience.

Sims 4 Mods are the only thing saving the Sims right now. So thank you to all of the creators out there!

i never watched one of these all the way through, are they always like this? This is PBS Kids level of humor/presentation, and I love the sims/Sims 4.

All I've ever wanted in Sims 4 is the ability to search the gallery by bedroom size and the ability to blank a world and create it how I want, name and all.

So to recap: we're getting a cooking revamp (freeing the cupcakes), getting a new stuff pack (🎉), and an expansion pack (likely not bands or fairies 🥲).

I miss the world editor from Sims3. You can use the extra neighborhood space to fit more lots for houses or community buildings.

I hope there are more updates for the base game, so those who can't afford packs can have more fun. I know it's probably not likely but one can only hope. maybe, even more career options.

This felt like something that my 9 y/o niece would watch, & so many things in game are dumbed down like that too when the game is literally rated teen & up & most players already in their 20s or older. Like if I wanted to play a kids game I would’ve gotten something else

I Hope it gets more like the sims 3. You can drive with the car, Curfew for teenagers and that the police gets you home and that you have an open world and can move from property to property without it loading.

Hear me out. I think the new EP might be about real estate, since at 4:45 a key with a house tag shows up and they've talked and shown so much about the Landgraabs' properties.

I am SO happy for the recipe list overhaul, and freeing of the cupcakes! Now I am BEGGING the dev's to make the skill Baking a base game skill and rearrange the recipe list according to this. It makes zero sense having cakes, cupcakes, and pies all under the cooking skill! FREE THE BAKING SKILL!!!!

Project Rene is going to be a microtransaction hellscape, and EA is gonna keep Sims 4 limping along at the same time to guage user feedback. Then if Project Rene does well they can cut Sims 4. But if it does bad, they can keep Sims 4 going while they regroup to replace Project Rene and smoothly transition to something else.

I hope project rene will let us have actual bands with more instruments and several musicians who perform at simple gatherings all the way to full concerts. And dance styles like kpop, hiphop, interpretive, ballet, etc. I really miss drums in the sims.

The Sims 4 Needs: 1. Mixed Lots (residents living over stores, workout studios, etc.) 2. A Mall Based Expansion Pack (So that they feel like malls with lots of shoppers, and even include Santa and the Easter Bunny during holidays) 3. Elevators For All Worlds 4. Hotels and Motels (for all of those nasty, cheating Sims) 5. A City Hall, Courtrooms & The Ability For Sims To Sue Each Other (they have jails, so they need to have everything) 6. A Fire Station 7. Cars! (with Driver's Ed for teenagers) 8. CAW (personally, I like perfectly symmetrical worlds in which I can number homes on each side of the street) 9. Elementary Schools (and not rabbit hole types) 10. Stores That Everyone Has Heard Of (how cool would it be if Sims could shop in an authentic looking Walmart, McDonald's or Trader Joe's, for example) 11. A Dentist Office (that could be another fear for Sims, as well) 12. An Office Park (with call centers, cubicles & old school telephones... and telemarketers and bill collectors for Sims to block, along with a National Do Not Sim Registry option on their computers and phones) 13. Home Alarm Systems & Garage Band Microphones (not karaoke, not comedy, but individual microphones for individuals to use) 14. Professional Sports Arenas (that aren't rabbit holes, since this is something that people enjoy internationally... my Sims would totally watch Tom Brady, Messi or The Rock do their thing...) 15. Black Friday For Sims (it would be funny to watch them camp out in front of stores and fight over toy cow plants and electronics) 16. Presidential Elections! (might as well keep it real) 17. Carnivals & Festivals That Are True To Life 18. Rock Concerts & Musicals (that aren't rabbit hole events) 19. Other Crimes (why is it so hard to believe that Sims are incapable of murder... I know, I'm just terrible) 20. More Empty Lots (since CAW is highly unlikely) 21. The Ability To Give Sims Longer Names (my Sims all have middle names and options are limited due to length restrictions) 22. Face Masks, Wheel Chairs & Other Devices For Sick And/Or Disabled Sims 23. Christenings & Actual Funerals (you have urn, tombstones, and coffins... why not formal funeral options) 24. Working Fans, AC & More Tree Options (for Sims that hate the summer heat) 25. Lawnmowers & Yard Sales!!! I'm sure there's more, but any/all of these would make me happy!

So... basically splitting up content between even more packs? Legit hope nobody is surprised.

Bestie, I really hope you will deliver a game with better gameplay, a ton of features and more realistic animations without a catch! You have competition and don't try to turn this game into something a simmer doesn't want. Give us your best and make older and newer simmers equally happy. Listen to the community. You need to be better, way better compared to TS4 Lauch. Surprise us on a positive note! You have a community that loves the Sims-Franchise. Don't let us down. I fear that the next Sims Game won't have what we except it should have. 😅

EA really needs to find a way to introduce more chaos/drama into the game. It's what is missing from the current game compared to TS & TS2.

i wish sims 4 would have stayed with some of the sims 3 gameplay like an open map you can free-roam, being able to own/drive cars, having most everyday things without having to buy a "pack" or "stuff". idk why they changed so much from a great game.

I hope there are new worlds or neighborhoods like Newcreast that makes Magnoliablossom bigger world. We usually go to another worlds to hang out. Because there are not enough playable lots in each world. It's not realistic. It feels going abroad to hang out. And I hope each world has hospitals, police stations, schools. Cause this is more realistic and fun. XD

I hope we get more stuff for base game like: new hair styles, new hair colors (I want a hair color that is like a natural red head because I am a natural red head and when I make my own sim she has to have bright red hair and that’s not my hair color so it drives me crazy) I would also like new careers for base game and some new clothes! please give base game so more!!! edit: I also wish that it would be like sims 3 and give you the option to customize clothing! I miss that so much because I find a shirt that I really like and then it’s in all the colors I don’t like or wouldn’t go with the outfit I had planned.

I hope it's a large base game update, but I'm keeping my expectations low because, well, EA higher-ups. Whatever this announces I'm not blaming any of the Sims Team, they don't make all the decisions.

Notice they said you can download and joun the game without a subscription to start. This is going to be Second Life: The sims version. Yeah you can join and explore without a subscription or purchase, but you wil be relegated to bare bones gameplay, items, and clothes if you dont open your wallet at some point.

I think that the new hotel pack should contain kind of like an Epcot type vacation world. Different biomes each with like 5 lots so there isn’t a limit to how vacation could be played.

So there will be multiple packs I have to purchase, just to equal the weather packs we had before where you only needed one?
