So Phillips Hue made their own Sonoff Mini, can't wait to hear what Paul Hibbert has to say about it "CORPORATE GREED" ;) and MyQ made a very expensive version of PetSafe's SmartDoor

I'm excited to hear that TP-Link has finally made 3 way dimmer switches. The community has been asking for these for sometime now. Thumbs up! Also, excited to see Philips new line of switches!

Did I understand you right that your using regular non smart led light as the above lights across the house, and control it using smart switches? What about brains of the smarthome, still a mix of SmartThings and Alexa. ? 😀 saw a live talk the other day about new house setup using home assistant. A lot was recommending to have hard wired sensors when building new house. How about you?. Sorry a bit out of context here from your video. Great stuff from CES. Also looking forward for all the tp-link stuff.

Great video good summary. I'm really TP-Link keeps adding more products since we have so many switches already. I've been trying bond and broadlink (?) RF fan controllers, but not sure. I wish tp link had an option for that. At the same time, I still haven't completely forgiven them for changing the cloud storage options post-purchase of their cameras, so while I'm keeping the switches I've switched most cameras over to eufy. After watching your previous automation video, I still need a hub other than just Google Home commands. There are several things I'd like to try, but all of it is beyond my current setup's capabilities. Woohoo on Roborock getting a auto-empty base! Now they just need a way to prevent hair tangles

Ii couldn't tell from your descriptions, but do any of these new devices allow local control only? It seems they all connect to some kind of cloud service. Well, the remote gate sensors might, but what about the other indoor components?

I think the biggest move in smart home tech needs to be getting all the control inside the home - move away from cloud, external servers etc completely, there is way too much dependence on external servers. One big advance would be to put some effort into things like a stable ZigBee network so devices remain connected better, and suffer less from WiFi interference. I like the Twinkly LED's though and the TV's look good.

Technology for technology’s sake haha. Definitely heading to a wallie society. I think i will stick with my power cut proof keys for my door though. I do like the wallpaper tv, and frame tv, though maybe a solar strip for the tv as well as the remote though especially if using always on picture mode.

My first robot vacuum was the S6Max and I already have serious FOMO about not being able to buy the s7. Also really appreciated your video and all the non top brand product you included. youtube searching "CES 2021" always only included about half the products you mentioned so was very happy to learn about more new products!

This was an excellent summary. However when I tried to look up the motion and contact sensors from TP Link, the KT 100 and 110, they do not show up anywhere. They don’t even show up on the company website. Does anyone know what is going on with these items?

I recently started to think about getting into automating basic things around my apartment on a budget, and I found your channel and absolutely love the content. Though sadly, almost all of the recommended sensors and items (such as Wyze) aren't available in the Netherlands without paying a huge premium, and no idea what else to look for :(
