Today I visited Twisted Automotive in Thirsk to try out a Land Rover Defender 110 but this time fitted with the sensational engine that is the LS V8. Packing over 430bhp and running a lost list of performance upgrades along with a whole host of suspension and handling components this is set to be one of the best motoring experiences of my life.
Twisted are not just a tuning company, they don’t set out to change the defender or even make it look new and fresh but instead they embrace what is defender and make it in there own words. Anti Ordinary. So what is Anti Ordinary and how does Twisted differ from its counterparts that do seemingly the same thing. Well Twisted offer probably the most bespoke service of any car brand or enhancement company, nothing is off limits, only the imagination of its incredibly lucky clients.
With a one man one ramp policy and a very customer centric approach, Twisted are able to work with the client and deliver exactly what they want. Bring their dreams out of their head and onto four wheels.
This is not the first time I have been here and tried out one of these incredible machines but last time I was given a Defender 110 with their most popular engine the 2.3 Ford unit. A fabulous engine and a very sensible choice for anyone looking to go down the Twisted route with their Defender. This time I wanted to try something a little different, something with more character, more power and something even more anti ordinary. This time is was time for the V8 powerhouse that is the LS swap.
