WBC/WBO/IBF light heavyweight king Artur Beterbiev now has a date to defend his crown. After recent dental surgery forced Beterbiev to postpone his Aug. 19 title defense against former world champion Callum Smith, the two will now meet Saturday, Jan. 13 at Videotron Centre in Quebec City, Canada.
Beterbiev vs Smith and the co-feature will be televised live on ESPN. Undercard action will stream exclusively in the U.S. on ESPN+.

@@davidpark2509mate. If you think either is going to put on a clinic or win easy, you are delusional. It’s a 50/50 fight. Watching this again. Beterbiev is much better now than this fight. What I will say is beterbiev has fought someone “similar” to Bivol but Bivol hasn’t fought anyone like beterbiev. My only question for Bivol is can he take the pressure and power for 12 rounds. Beterbiev isn’t just a puncher, his a VERY zgood boxer that has good feet and distance control. I haven’t a clue who wins. That’s why it’s such a great fight

Good fight between 2 elite undefeated world champs. Much respect to both boxers for daring to be great, so soon into their pro careers. Proof that Beterbiev can be outboxed, but that's only if you can withstand his pressure & power. Which is something nobody has been able to do so far, 20-0-20KO's

Тогда все говорили что Гвоздик фаворит, но люди не знали кто такой Артур Бетербиев, в тот вечер узнали)). В 9ом раунде Артур плотно просадил корпус Саше и силы в миг покинули Гвоздика, там уже дело за малым. Тоже самое нужно делать и в бою с Биволом это садить корпус плотными ударами, а когда собьется дыхание добивать по голове

after watching a lot of Beterbiev fights it seems that most of his oponents just trying to survive. there´s always the impression that there´s a brick wall and a man facing each other in the ring and the brick wall stands and man doesn´t. i wonder if Bivols skills and ring IQ are enough to survive against Artur. Both are the elite in the sport.

Not really. Gvozdyk was winning in a lot of people's eyes, but Artur's constant pressure made Gvozdyk gas out. Gvozdyk himself said he felt he lost because he got tired. Credit to Artur because Arture made Gvozdyk gas out with his nonstop aggression and power. Beterbiev is quick,opertunistic on the inside,good with his guard & looks after his batteries well.He also looks strong & knows when to go on the backfoot. I think to beat him you have to close his eye or lungs, keep working on the eyes and body.Think about full on chinning him later in fight,after all he has a big chin.He'l do anything to beat you so if he can't see or breathe well then pounce on the Walnut later after round 6 if can get that far

Orsdyk,Joe smith jnr,Callum Johnson,Callum Smith,Marcus Browne, Antony yarde,few of them were champions before fighting atur,he can only beat (KO)! what's in front of him, atur has wiped out the LHW division only bivol to KO n make him undisputed, he went 295-5;in the amateurs now he's 20-0!with 20kos. Only real win bivol has was canelo who's a super middle weight n not a true true.LHW but he beat him so give him credit for that but beterbiev is sledge hammer coming to put real hurt on in He's technically angood boxer as well as a KO artist.

Beterbiev land 24 more jabs and land 19 more power punch than Gvozdyk. accuracy 31.3% Beterbiev vs 19. 2% Govzdyk. Normally Beterbiev is ~40% accuracy. Govzdyk throws more punches but punching a ghost has nothing to do with the clinch.

beterbiev is not better today. this was a prime beterbiev, he simply ran into a prime gvozdyk. gvozdyk is simply better than anyone artur has fought to date so artur looked worse than he normally does. if it wasn't for artur, gvozdyk might still be undefeated today. artur will look pretty bad against bivol as well. i still think artur stops bivol in the later rounds though

I believe Gvozdyk was doing really well until he got caught with those punches to the body, including the one in which he literally took a short break from the fight and the ref gave him such break. He was focusing on Artur’s body well until Artur started answering back to the body… it didn’t take much body work for the fight to change. Hard not to gas if you get your body obliterated by a handful of stone heavy punches

Its not that Bivol isn't worthy of being undisputed, he certainly would be if it weren't for this genetic freak gatekeeping the light heavyweight division, being technically gifted just isn't enough to beat Artur, you're gonna have to put your life in serious danger, knocking out a man is one thing, but to batter the cream of the crop the best pugilists 175 has to offer and forcing them to quit is something else ... I don't believe Bivol has the chin let alone the grit to pull that off, the only chance of him winning is on points and Beterbiev will likely put Bivol on a gurney before he lets that happen.

Gvozdyk doesnt have the stamina, thats why he lost... plain and simple... and his reflexes are way too slow... hes the taller guys yet hes getting out jabbed by Artur. No ways hes gonna win against Artur or Bivol.

great fight but terrible and Horrible work by the commentators, the fight was close and the Ukrainian boxer was not tired, in the 9th round, he received vicious body shots. Beterbiev did not dominate the fight as the "commentators" and "experts" of TR, pictured the frame. He was lucky with the body shots and he was outboxed many times in the bout.

i think i counted 7 or 8 times that beterbiev threw some heavy shots just after the bell and while the ref was breaking them up, he was using wrestling moves and throwing gvozdyk to the ground multiple times, headbutting, clear shots to the back of the head lol very dirty fighting he was clearly frustrated by gvozdyks style and was afraid he was losing on the cards
