it's just nostalgia. I love it too, but gen Xers, young people of the decade were anxious and depressed as ever. It is even apparent in this show. A teenage soup opera with no real villains and hardly any tragedy, set in upper class california yet most characters are unsatisfied and moody most time. Kurt Cobain captured and represents more the angst and general feeling of this era than 90210!

I agree! I had forgotten it was ever this long. It was cooler & somehow much more fun. While I watched this show like most teens did then, I still preferred MELROSE PLACE. But this still gives me goosebumps.....we were all so young. Yet life wasn't as fun as we remember it. Glad we had shows like these though!!!!

I was born in 1975 too. :) I liked this show a lot, the theme song was perfect. But I would not want to return to my high-school years, at least not unless I could 'stay' in senior year for a while. :) Those were tough times....lot of bullies, some false-friends. But there were some fun times too.....including this show!

She looks sweet. I would be friends with her for sure. She's intelligent and gentle and a lot of teenage girls are depicted as bitches and actual girls mistake cruelty for being cool as a result. Kelly definitely broke that mold and Jennie brought a beautiful emotional twist to her character that Gabrielle and Shannon and Tory never managed to. She was the most surprising character of them all and I think it says a lot about the actress. I would be very happy to work with her as a director (myself).
