I think because it's just lackluster, I mean she was stiff as hell dancing which wouldn't be an issue. If they actually gave the dancer some serious choreography to do instead of a talent show one step. The graphic didn't really match the performance. She didn't full rap her verse while just standing up,.which wouldn't be so bad because everyone does but I think she could've just done better. I don't mean to sound like I'm hating but it just could've been better in my opinion.

It only take away if the person don't know how to breathe correctly. Then it sounds dumb. Most people in the studio chop the song up, chop the verse up and not recording it in one take so if they don't practice hard before performing then it's gonna sound choppy. I've been there. If you keep practicing bar for bar then you and the song should sound like 1. Not 2 voices. And your adlibs from the song should compliment/hype it up

You gotta calm down and do it in the same cadence and pitch as the record. It can be done, though ive never seen anyone pull it off.
