Well maintained one run 100 years but these Pakistani's cannot oafford clean lubricating oil or fuel oil for that matter and just use old mootor oil for both jobs.

Those garments that these people use look very dangerous in these kind of jobs....Spinning wheels,belts all over the place and moving mechanical parts easily catch those loose clothing....just a gust of wind can be the cause of an accident....

These old style diesels could really burn almost anything.

The belts are pulled to the center of the wheels, the faster it spins the more the belt wants to be in the center. This is because of the shape of the wheel, if it had a flat running surface then the belt would shoot off.

the wheels are called pulleys. their surface is slightly convex so the belts selfcentre.

No sense in starting the engine without the belt on the pulley. Would you try and put the belt back on, with the engine running?

@@fasttruckman yes, it's quite simple to slip the belt back on with a stick. I was doing it 60 years ago.

There is always someone who professes to know more than the guys who live with these engines everyday and know them inside out.

one is the water pump right near the engines. one disconnected on the ele motor looks like a water pump also. i cant see the others, either.

These machines barely use any fuel and it’s a very lean mix they are burning. No black smoke billowing from them. Also no new engines have to be build to replace them.

because we pollute 10x more than them combined. even in india, it's the rich people using all the energy
