IF you look at the old boxing manuals what we now call a jab used to be more like a head stabilising tool, then all incoming punches would literally be grappled and the bodies moved around and opened up for a punch, especially off the cross guard. It was more like a mixture of win chun and judo. I don't think Devin is that great at the clinch because you are meant to keep working the inside and over the shoulder, he *will* get better though as he goes up the weight divisions. Roy Jones Junior and Ali were two of the best at tying fighters up. Tyson Fury is also very very good at it as was Lennox Lewis. It is a fundamental weapon in the sport.
