@NavalKishoreBarthwal

@DaleBall2
@DaleBall2 7 років тому
Brian Alpert like, none. no reason for companies to produce BT5 speakers until more phones are released with the capability. I predict late next year or early 2019. I'm sure Samsung will come out with their own version tho if they haven't already :)
@OniNekomon
@OniNekomon 7 років тому
Brian Alpert, if the phone is Bluetooth 5 enabled it will be comparable with every other Bluetooth device, I guess down to Bluetooth 2.0. But if one speaker has let's say Bluetooth 3.0 and another Bluetooth 4.2 you will definitely be able to tell that one is more delayed then the other. As older versions of Bluetooth has less speed(so to compensate they add delay)
@p0xygen
@p0xygen 4 роки тому
A bit late but yeah... He explained it a bit sketchy... Samsung has two different bluetooth chips to do that and the second one is only Bluetooth 3, the most other phones with Bluetooth 5 have only one chip... And you can't have the speed and range at the same time either fast or wide...

A lot of this information contradicts what Android Authority published in the video "The truth about Bluetooth 5." For example the greater range is only available for CODED connections which are limited to around 100 Kbps, the new faster 2 Mbps connection has the same range (or maybe less than BLE 4.x). Also, doesn't the "8 x Data" thing only apply to the advertising packets which are used in Beacons, it isn't for audio etc. Who is right MKBHD or Android Authority?
@mohammadafaneh3481
@mohammadafaneh3481 6 років тому
Android Authority for sure
@GiorgioAresu
@GiorgioAresu 6 років тому
Android Authority. much misinformation in this video. 1: faster pairing? don't think so if you're not using a BT5.0 speaker, just placebo? 2: more speed doesn't imply less latency, so I'd doesn't solve audio lagging behind video, just means higher quality audio 3: simultaneous pairing and use of 2 devices is not enabled by BT5, it was done before. Look at some creative products, they allowed 2 headphones to a single source for months, maybe a year
@id1666
@id1666 6 років тому
+Giorgio Aresu Audio lagging behind hasn't been a problem for years. More of a problem is sometimes waking headphones from battery saving leads them to drop out of sync/having a bad connection and because video and audio are in sync no matter what, both stutter.
@MikeTrieu
@MikeTrieu 5 років тому
@@id1666 Any Bluetooth solution that doesn't use a low-latency codec like aptX-LL will suffer noticeable latency. Perhaps you are less sensitive to the status quo, but it still exists.

dual audio has nothing to do with Bluetooth 5. Pretty much all Bluetooth speakers are built with Bluetooth classic. Therefore, they will only connect to Bluetooth classic on the S8. It does have dual mode, where you can use both Bluetooth classic and Bluetooth Low Energy (which is a power efficient version of Bluetooth mainly made for smartwatches, heart monitors, and fitness trackers, due to the fact that a lot of power doesn't get used from those devices.) but that stuff about faster speed, data, and range is untrue.

@black guy No, you don't know what you're talking about. The audio isn't routed over the BLE connection, higher speed or otherwise, at least not in Samsung's current implementation. You can test this for yourself if you have an earlier Samsung phone without BT5 and backport the dual audio feature with a custom ROM. It's purely software, not anything tied specifically to BT5. Yes, BT5 now has the bandwidth to actually carry audio, but hardly anyone today is doing it and certainly not Samsung.

Bluetooth 5.0 looks like a massive improvement over BLE 4.2 only on paper. In real world though, its about 1.5 times better than BLE4.2. Also, the distance and throughput are not stackable, you get either distance or throughput increase. For example, if the device is at, say 100 feet, throughput drops to around 100 kilobits down from 1.5-1.7 megabits when they are right next to each other. Digging around a bit more, it looks like Bluetooth 5.0 was definitely intended to help advertisers and such take advantage of the increased range with decreased bandwidth. Having said that, sending audio via bluetooth to 2 devices simultaneously is dope though. ^_^

I know,same over here,I don't even give 3 shits about wireless headphones and I don't even want to use wireless speakers,it's a waste in my eyes,just another crap to charge,I prefer the cable,so all of these features just are useless for me,maybe connecting computers,laptops,phablets and tablets and convertibles and smartwatches with them,then yeah,but the smartwatches that are okay are way too expensive,125-150$ is the best price,more then that is a waste,if I can buy a petter phone or tablet or fablet for the same price than it's a waste thanks to the price.

Doesnt the speaker need 5.0 to be any faster
@iz723
@iz723 7 років тому
Well yes. But what do you mean by a "fast" bluetooth speaker? NFC bluetooth pairing is practically instant.
@richardw1992
@richardw1992 7 років тому
I Z by a fast speaker he is referring to the bandwidth, or speed at which the speaker can receive data. For example a low quality mp3 would transmit 128kbits of data per second. Whereas a CD quality song would be transmitting 1411kbits of data per second, which bluetooth speakers in the past typically couldn't send and receive data at that bandwidth or "speed". Bluetooth 5 now supports theoretical direct transfer speeds of 2Mbits per second so we should be getting closer to transmitting CD quality audio via Bluetooth. An analogy what the OP was saying however, if your phone can handle Bluetooth 5, but the speaker can't ("isn't faster"), the speaker can't receive all the lovely higher resolution audio you're trying to send it. And thus you're still stuck with poor quality bluetooth audio.
@iz723
@iz723 7 років тому
But that depends heavily on the type of encoding it goes through. Currently the A2DP protocol encodes audio to a low bitrate in order to transmit it. AptX tries to change that but are there any new protocols to take advantage of the new speed? (btw, he mentions speed and throughput as separate things, whats the difference?)
@justinstar9710
@justinstar9710 7 років тому
+I Z speed is latency measure, time took for data to reach other end. Throughput is the bandwidth of how much data can be transferred in a given time frame, usually in secs.

Just to help you out. No you dont need a bluetooth speaker with 5.0 bluetooth! the phone that is utilizing 5.0 can hook up to any versions of bluetooth the speaker has! I dont think any speaker rn has bluetooth 5.0!

@XSilvenX
@XSilvenX 6 років тому
^ No, it's not. The stereo mix is merely duplicated to two separate speakers with MKBHD's example. True stereo requires separation of the left and right channels -- essentially, you'd have to be able to send the left channel to one speaker, and the right channel to the other speaker.
