Idiots in boats, don't give your kid's life jackets until the boat is sinking? Not one person on the boat had a life jacket on.

My best guess is the captain doesn't have a boating license. Rule number #1 when boating: everyone needs to wear a lifejacket. 2nd, he went way too fast for the circumstances which tells me he was unexperienced as well.

Damn man…. I helped build this boat. This makes me sad. Captains need to be up to the job. You have everyone’s lives in that boat… in your hands essentially. Then add to all of that… no life jackets and how it was way overloaded. This just makes me sad to see.

There’s a thing that we, boat captains, need to understand- weight dispersion, and how not to drive a boat with too many people on it, especially with heavier people near the bow.

This is why it's important to put on the life vests BEFORE going out. This was a good lesson for all of them!

I always wear a life jacket, even walking down the street - you never know when you might need it.

What an incredible adventure! Everybody so close together experiencing the thrill of their lives! Those big waves flooding the bow, undescribable! Everybody enjoying the freedom and excitement of the moment, without the hindrance and encumbrance of life jackets. A real treat, something to call home about!

People don't get it, when I was a kid I was (and still am) a great swimmer so I thought life jackets were unnecessary but when I was a little older and not as stupid lol, I realized it's not about how great you can swim because if you're going fast on a boat and an accident happens and you pass out, hurt yourself, or both, the life jacket will keep you from drowning when you aren't able to swim in bad conditions.

You should never turn around in seas like these. All you needed to do is cut your speed in half. Keep moving at a 35-45 degree angle to the waves. Once you are clear of the breaking seas you can turn around.

Just because you own a boat doesn’t necessarily mean you know how to operate it.

Unfortunally, it is not isolated case. We went with family to Cornwall and took local boat to see seal sanctuary at the coast. Most scary thing. Only children got life vests, when I told the crew guy I can't swim and ask for jacket he said he had no more and asked me not to panic. The further from the shore the more small boat was struggling against the sea waves. It was two hours trip throughout which I only prayed that we could reach land back safely. This boat keepers are careless, money oriented idividuals who don't care for passengares safety. When we reached rocks with seals at the sea, the boat keeper stopped motor to approach rocks as close as possible for better view... None of us on the board was even thinking about taking any photos as boat was unstable, rocking franticly being carried with waves far too close to rocks and we all were panicking wishing the whole 'adventure ' would end asap and happily... When we boarded the boat it didn't even come to my mind to questionned keeper if he is licensed. And I would not now, as since that event I lost interest in this kind of shore trips.... It is a wild buisness going on there... Cash transactions only, I am not sure even if he knew how many persons he had on the board.. That could be trully LIFE (taking) adventure...

I have a very similar boat. First of all. They are what I call “lake boats” they aren’t meant to be out in large waves nor are they meant to jump around like seadoos. He’s driving like an idiot with a lot of human cargo and lack of life vests in there.

As I work in yachts and boats industry we always tend to reduce the number of clients on oat, this is 28ft I would not put more than 8 people on it, we get weather warnings in such weather so sailing shouldn’t be permitted in such high waves, I also wonder what were the life jackets hanging out there lol

Weight distribution, drainage plugs, water pumps. You don't EVER turn towards the side that you're leaning, that's how you capsize
