Growing up my dad absolutely loved this song. Was never much of a fan but since he passed away years ago i love it... No matter where you go if this song's playing whether it's a stadium, concert venue, sports arena, grocery store, anywhere you can think of with a crowd and people will start singing. Doesn't matter where your from, what color you are, what your beliefs etc , they will sing it. it's amazing being at a heavy metal show hearing about 1,000's of people sing this song during the intermission

I remember when they first released this. It was my very first CD I bought! The CD was the shizzle back then. No more cassette tapes! WOOT! Look at us today... Woke everywhere you look :( . The 80's was probably the last great time to grow up. Tons of 'firsts' to experience. Many kids today hear or come up with something and thinks it's brand new or next-level and it's not. Real rock died long ago.. unfortunately. It was pure talent, no CGI, no expensive computers... just their voice and a few instruments. Now that's not to say there isn't some great talent out there today.. certainly there is. But not like the 60's thru 80's.

It’s another one of the sappy “my parent loved this song” posts, but I’m going to post it anyway. My Dad passed away to Covid-19. He’d already had a compromised immune system from 2 different battles with cancer. He loved this song, because he felt like it was a song about him. He was always “living on a prayer”. I don’t cry when I hear this and think of my Dad. I smile knowing he’s watching over me from paradise.
