For SAR purpose, i would personally prefer an inboard with jet drive for the maneuverability and shallow draft. Plus theres less chance of potentially striking a diver if youre working around divers. Indmar has a sweet package with their marinized version of the Ford 2.3L EcoBoost engine and their EcoJet that would be perfect for SAR

I wish I could afford a small boat and a decent sonar setup……I live right near the Arkansas river and there are lots of places that might have cars in it……not to mention all the lakes and streams here in Arkansas!

I pulled in to flaming gorge campsite after dark with a new tent and we got it all set up and had to take a pee so I went off a little ways and came back, there was no moon pitch black and we bunked down and got up the next day and where we pee'd was around 10 ft from a sheer cliff into the water for 30 feet drop, we shit ourselves and said thanks to the ancestors for keeping us safe. We never saw the drop off or the water or cliff or anything it was too dark.
