Simon Swan, somebody had to defend Freddie Mercury, his family couldn't do it, as they felt that, maybe they couldn't cope with their loss, but I'm not saying that, Brian, and Roger could cope with their loss, at all. They defended Freddie, in a respectful, dignified, and loving way, only true friends could, in my humble opinion.

Looking at this video and thinking back to when he died, the press lied, judged and over-dramatized Freddie's illness. He was a human being who was incredibly talented, kind and open-hearted. He really LIVED life to the fullest and unfortunately paid with his life. He is genuinely loved by millions of people and like The Beatles, ABBA and other brilliant musicians, QUEEN's music will last forever!!!
@deathbeforedecaf7755

He was human and lived his life. No one knew there would be a disease that would kill and they didn't know how to prevent or how to treat it. But most people die from life choices. They get cancer from too much sun exposure. Heart attack from food choices, stress and lack of exercise. We want to judge when it's a rock star who dies from drugs or AIDS.

@acrobatsutr, as I said in previous comments, I think that, Brian, Roger, and Adam are giving Queen fans a chance to hear some of their songs they recorded, when Freddie was alive, and before John retired. I haven't been to see Queen, as I was born in 1983, I know it wouldn't be the same, without Freddie's powerful vocals, and John's bass. Brian has his trademark Red Special guitar, and Roger has his drums, along with Adam, and I think they wanted to remember, and honour Freddie, after all these years. Some people say they are doing it for the money, I don't think that, at all, I think that, they are keeping Freddie's musical legacy alive.

I don't blame Brian May, and Roger Taylor for doing the interview, as they are still in a state of shock. I think it should have been postponed to a later date, when the grief, upset, hurt, and anger Brian May, and Roger Taylor felt the media caused them. I think Brian May, and Roger Taylor knew Freddie Mercury better than anyone, other than Freddie Mercury's own family. They wanted to tell their side of the story, and how they knew Freddie Mercury as a person. This interview would NEVER have been easy. And it's unwise to make your love of someone contingent on the veracity of their perfect virtue, because nobody is perfect. You might have to turn your love into a monument as a testament to your own loving nature and what you give to people, if you find out they were actually evil and that loving them is toxic for you or you can only love them by lying to yourself about them or what they did. But short of that, all people are universes in their own right, and if they get lost and make a quite few bad mistakes, that doesn't mean you have to stop loving them or seeing the wonderful aspects of them.

They may have lost Freddie Mercury only a week before this interview was done, in 1991, don't blame them for wanting to cry, it is the media's fault, for saying really vile things about their bandmate, of course, they wanted to tell their side of Freddie Mercury's tragic, premature death, aged just 45. They also told us, as fans about how he was as a person. They respected Freddie throughout his career, they may have had creative differences, which lots of bands had, Queen were no exception in that. They couldn't go to Garden Lodge without fruit for Freddie Mercury, as he was dying. In 1 of the newspapers, it was splashed "Is Freddie ill" ?. Brian May, Roger Taylor, and John Deacon kept denying the rumours, until Freddie Mercury went public, on 23rd November, 1991, just over 24 hours later, Freddie Mercury sadly lost his brave, and courageous fight against AIDS.

I'm so glad Brian defended Freddie. Freddie wasn't a freaking sexual deviant. Yes be had lots of sex and had lots of lovers but they weren't just one night stands, he truly loved and cared for them. He even cared for the ass who is gave him AIDS. Freddie was a loving man and he was so lucky to have Brian, Roger and John in his life. They knew what a good person he was. So what if he was homosexual, he was a good man, a great friend and phenomenally talented. Nobody was to blame for Freddie getting AIDS, it was just circumstances and the ignorance of the time period. At least his death started the whole AIDS awareness and so much more is known about the disease and how to keep from getting it. The threat is still there but at least we have the knowledge now. Freddie's death was a huge loss to the world and to music as we know it. He was one of a kind and there will never be another like him. He is sorely missed. 😢

I wish he was still here. Could you imagine what he would be doing now for music I think he would be so proud of the fact that the world has changed that gay marriage is aloud now people are doing more for people with HIV and not making fun of them. He was a gifted man with a huge heart for others for life and for music. I do hope Fred is resting in peace and I hope he did not suffer to much in the end. He was free spirited and loved life and well deserved to rest in peace. I love you always Queen.....

I feel like Freddie Mercury would have still probably Married Jim with or Without Gay marriage being legal cause hes Freddie mecury, he gets what he wants. I feel like a close resemblence to Freddie Mercury in the modern day could possibly be Brendon Urie because of how similiar they kinda are vocally and in personalty. I wish Freddie Mercury was still here cause he was a icon and he honestly would have loved modern day so much because of everyone in the LGBTQ and everyone whos still widely weird or just how people are now.

Brian and Roger have continued to stick up for Freddie after all these years. This is and was true friendship they both had for Freddie. The press can be evil when it comes to the private lives of celebrities. Clearly, Freddie did not owe them an answer when it came to his sexuality or HIV/AIDS. As far as I'm concerned it was never the business of the press or the public, which is why I respect that Freddie made the choice to release the information on his terms. Ever since I was a little girl, my father would play Queen's records and I feel -n-love with their music and Freddie's nearly 5-octave vocal range. All that matters is he's remembered for the music. There was an interview on Freddie where he told the interviewers that he isn’t really the person he was on stage. Off stage he was quite humble and shy. His performance was obviously all for show. There was one point in his lifetime where he did hit the rails and took all sorts of drugs and partied, which was not long after he broke up with his wife Mary. He partied like there was no tomorrow. Then one day he left that scene and got straight back in to his band Queen. He was and will forever be the best band in history. His legacy still lives on in 2018, and will remain strong forever ♥️

There was this moment during their final live performance at Knebworth when John is seen throwing bass away in a fit of rage. It has been brought forward that he did it because he was tired of the tour and wanted to go home. But what both Brian and Roger have since admitted was just prior to John exploding, Freddie took the guys apart in the backstage and said "I fucking can't do this anymore!" and being totally serious, at which they all realized that something was VERY wrong. Because performing live was Freddie's biggest love of all. So it was not just the exhaustion that made John go ape, he knew Freddie well enough to know that this indeed would be the final time Queen played live. Freddie never made jokes like that and thus worried and angry, he took his bass off and threw it away in not just the literal way.
