I just read..other comments directors offered him a sum of money and he refused. Lead one to believe something sour went wrong. I also read he moved on to better his career, however to not return and use cameos makes one wonder..I so miss the Duke!!💔

He won't come back. The actor who played the Duke said he won't come back in the show. Sad because Simon is a very interesting character. I was sad he didn't appeare again because I wanted to see his evolution completed as a loving and devoted husband and father

They’ve also fired the actress who plays Daphne (she confirmed she was not asked back for season 3) so both Daphne and Simon are now gone from the show. Pity. However, it seems like Anthony and Kate will be the ones setting an example to the other siblings, which I love too.

Maybe it's because she is the oldest daughter and Anthony the oldest son, and apparently, before their father's death, Anthony and Daphne were very close playing together most of the time but when their father died and he abruptably became the head of the family and the new Viscount, Anthony changed and became distant with most of his brothers and sisters, yet he still had a special afection for Daphne. I mean, through most part of Season 1 we can see Anthony overprotecting her, and also having Daphne in the highest esteem (in 1x04 he was ready to kill to Simon in a duel to defend the honor of his sister and in 1x07 he blamed Simon for "fucking everything" with Daphne)

I would think him being oldest brother it's his job to take over and protect his sisters/family.
