@@benhart7469 its when you take a grinding compound (looks like a paste with fine micro sanding/ grinding granules) and smear it around the inside at the top of the valves, drop it into the engine (where the valves go), make use of a grinding tool (With a “rubber sucker” on the end and a shaft to roll/ grind with your hands..imagine making a fire in the field motion), which will grind away any carbon around the valves, while at the same time polish and embed/ “seal” the new valves.

Oil leakage issues either from the rings being installed improperly (the gaps should not line up) or leakage through the valves due to excessive wear. You can try a hotter plug in the engine. It isn't a fix it's a workaround but it might get you some more years from it.

Do you have the model code on the engine, typically on a vertical shaft sprint engine it will be on the front of the pull start/cooling shroud, above the head of the engine where the spark plug wire slips through. If so, Briggs and stratton has a decent model search function (search on Google Briggs and Stratton model search and the first link should take you to a page showing you where to typically find model codes, scroll down to where it says search for manuals in a red bar, fill in the information like selecting searching for a engine, what equipment it is on, and then the model code, it will be the first two of the three sets of numbers on the shroud combined with a dash)

Could be a few things... oil to thin on weight (use SW-30 synthetic), bad plug, to Much oil, bad/ dirty air filter, rings leaking buy. I rebuild/ fix/ repair/ flip/ sell mowers all the time since I'm now retired.

Труба от двигателя это сапун. Дым, синий это сгоревшее масло. Нужно прошлифовать цилиндр и поставить ремонтные кольца.
