I live in a traditional Japanese 180 years old house surrounded by three authentic 100, 190 and original 350 years old) authentic gardens created by authentic Japanese gardeners and i am sorry but this video made me laugh so much. None of those gardens look authentic or even remotely Japanese. This looks like the Pier Import and Ikea idea of what a Japanese garden looks like. I am sorry but all of the are hideous, because they look so fake. The oldest garden in my house was created in 25 years, this is because the gardeners would go around the country to bring back trees and rocks, one rock came from Kyushu and weighs over 3 tons, and my house is in Nara. The rock took 9 years to make the journey. and the largest lantern took 5 years to carve, two trees came from the mountains of Hokkaido, some from Ise and Kamakura. Countless river rocks were brought from natural rivers from all over the country. Each rock, each lantern each tree each shrub is placed according to the direction of the sun and the moon at given times and seasons to be seen at their best advantages, the pond on the west side will reflect the full moon on the day of Jugoya a celebration of the moon in the fall (every year the moon will reflect in the pond at that time, but won't reflect during any other season). The direction of the rocks and trees are placed in the exact position and direction they were oriented when they were picked up as to preserve the flow of energy and their natural aspect. And i could go on and on. My house is not worth a lot of money, but the gardens are priceless and can't be destroyed anymore as they are considered a local landmark even though nobody can see them, and i am never allowed to damage them even though i own them. That's how much real Japanese garden are worth. Just to give an idea of the craziness of real Japanese garden. There is a stepping stone in front of the entrance on which you must step to reach the entrance. That stepping stone is about the size of manhole cover and as high as basket ball. That's the visible part. This stone is actually as large as a car and was brought there to be burried and leave just that part protruding to bring stability to the whole house visually and also energetically. When you step n it, you know that you are grounded and so is the house. All the foundation stones of the house on which all tradional houses are built in Japan, are also showing only less than 1/30th of their size and the rest is buried to actually stabilize the house which is built on top of it. Also my house is built without a single nail, and all the parts are just interlocking, and is of course entirely made of wood. It has never moved or cracked regardless of earthquakes and typhoons etc,.... It is naturally warm in winter and cool in summer thanks to its orientation and the gardens. I am sorry but those gardens and houses on this video look cheap and fake and anything but Japanese.

@@Hannari-xt6nr That is very impressive what You describe about Your gardens! Great! I've seen many pictures of ancient japanese guest houses (ryokan) and seem to me similar...maybe it has to do with the way one appreciates the ambients, spiritual peace? @@antonio_alfa My pleasure. I just had to write it, because some people would buy one of those gardens on the videos and pay a fortune for that, when a japanese garderner would make an authentic one for you for less than 10% of that fee and you really feel how different it is. Of course my gardens would require much more time and money (which i could not afford at all!) but it is better to have a simple authentic japanese garden than a very impressive fake one. If you have the time, type this in the youtube search barr and watch that video on how real japanese gardeners create a real japanese garden from scratch. 造園の技法 第6巻
