I have been a fan of BTS since basically the beginning when I was 5, and lots have happened since then. When I was 8, my dad said I couldn't listen to them or kpop in general because he didn't want me to find a girl group and start wanting to wear provocative clothes. Three months after that I had my first suicide attempt, my mom became even more abusive than she already was, and by the time I turned 9, I had my 3rd attempt. When I was in 4th grade, my dad let me listen to kpop again. I had gotten a tad bit better, when Love Yourself: Tear came out towards the end of 4th grade, my mom had just gotten worse and worse. By the 6th grade, I had become completely emotionless because I didn't want to deal with anything. To me, BTS is more than just a boy band that I am very much straight for, but it's a way for me to cope with my emotional trauma and feel things that I would otherwise try to hide. I'm in the 7th grade now and even though I'm not at my best, I'm not 6 feet under, so that's a huge accomplishment for me. I still have my now 7 year streak of having straight A's and I live in Louisiana with my only slightly toxic dad rather than my alcoholic, abusive mother in California. I've come a long way from before and with BTS, I finally have something that I want to live for, which makes me really happy. I just wanted to share my story with you beautiful(and I mean that in the most gender neutral way) people and tell you you're not alone. With BTS and ARMY, you NEVER walk alone, and even though I don't know you and you probably don't know me, I love you so much.

Do any of y’all just get emotional not because your sad or mad but just cause you’re happy, your happy to have ran into bts and stan them. You’re happy you have the opportunity to grow up listening to them. Just in your room vibin and tears run down because your so happy to have this one life opportunity...I’m blessed to be growing up with them. When I was depressed their music helped, when I was self harming they helped to stop and use their music as therapy. When I was having eating disorder they motivated me to love myself and eat right. When I have anxiety or attacks their musics helps a lot to calm me down. Now I’m here happier than ever...and it’s all thanks to them. My reason to keep going is their music and my siblings. The reason why I smile a lot and I’m happy is cause of them. The reason why I have so much confidence now is thanks to them. reading the comments on this video make me feel so warm and proud to be an army. none of my friends in real life like them. in fact, one of them hates them as she claims they are fake and do it for the money (if only she knew the true passion and hard work they put into their craft), meaning that I often feel quite isolated as an army. however, going to the comment section reminds me that armys are everywhere and that they will always support you, so thank you everyone for making me feel part of this community. I was doing so well and not crying and then winter bear started playing and I lost it. My dad used to call me his cuddly bear and used to put me to sleep every night. He died this last April and this song, especially when it says "Picture your face say hello to me" really gets me because I always imagine him standing at the end of my bed at night singing me to sleep. I'm not going to get into detail but ever since he died, I started self harming again and also had another suicide attempt. This playlist really makes me chill out especially if I'm having suicidal thoughts or if I feel the need to self harm. Bts as well as other kpop groups I Stan really make me realise my worth and they should for you too. Honestly, After reading these comments I once again realized how much BTS changed my life. They aren't just a boy band, They're a whole family. Same with ARMY's. I finished about 10 assignments because of this playlist. My motivation? Their voices, songs, and quotes. I listened to them, took notes, and eventually succeeded in reaching a specific goal. Words can't explain my love and gratitude towards them, Without them, I wouldn't be typing this. I wouldn't be surviving life. they truly helped me in a way no one has ever done before. They're the reason I'm still alive to this day. They're the reason I still have the motivation to continue living life. And most importantly, They're the reason I loved myself. Nothing could ever replace the love and consideration they gave me. You ask me why 7 men who doest even know i exist changed my life? Because, Namjoon who taught me to be mature, Jin who taught me to be confident no matter who i am, Yoongi who taught me to be patient and hardworking, Hoseok who always seemed to smile gave me all the happiness, Taehyung who amazed me with his good sense of humor and goofy personality, Jimin who always seemed to be positive and smiley mesmerized me with the amount of adoration and love he gives to the other members and people around him, and Jungkook who taught me to never give up whatever happens because he'd rather die than live without passion, as he said. Jin’s part in ‘the truth untold’ always makes me cry, like I’m fine for the whole song but once Jin sings I cry- his voice is literally amazing and people think he can’t sing?! Like have you heard his voice!? It’s like a angel. I could fall asleep to his voice.

To be honest, listening to this makes me tear up and remember all the good + bad times. Ever since my parents got divorced, it's been a hard time for me. I'm just a kid and I can't process all this chaos. I now live with my mom and brother. I am just grateful that I have a roof over my head and warm meals to eat. Remember, there are always people out there who would do practically anything to get the things you have. Sometimes, we can't control ourselves, and we can't blame ourselves. Everybody goes through rough times, and that's normal. But the thought of hating on other people and leaving mean comments is just wrong. I'm listening to this rn with tears glistening in my eyes. My life will be so dull and colourless without them. I'm not exaggerating when I say that I don't remember having any emotions or feelings before being a fan of BTS. Sometimes I try to remember how I was before; whether I was happy or not but I remember nothing... nothing. I was just living but not really living. I was going through the motions of life but not really experiencing it. I'm so lucky that I found them when it's not too late. I wish I had known them earlier on but I'm still grateful I did now. BTS has changed my life, I am still here til this day because of them, they have helped so many people through their hard work and amazing singing, they are literally changing the world to be a place where people can connect with their music and know that things will be better. Their music was one of my sources of cope to end the deep sadness I had, I am so thankful for BTS and Army💜💜💜💜💜 I am so thankful for them. I hope that everyone knows that Army has your back and Know that this is an amazing community to be a part of !!!💜💜💜💜

It hurts to say that BTS was the only thing that kept me not giving up and be happy at my darkest times but at the same time I'm very thankful and happy I've found them I LOVE YOU BTS!

i don't expect anyone to actually read this because it's long but i was just reading other armies' comments and i wanted to share too. i found BTS in 2016 and they hadn't quite reached the west yet. I'm not going to stand here and say that BTS is the reason I'm here today, but they also are. i had been subtly bullied since 2015. not enough to be very noticeable by other people but enough to break me a bit. enough to make me wonder what was wrong with me and if I would ever be enough. enough to make me unhappy. that's when I found kpop. i first liked got7 and only found BTS later. i love got7 to this day but bts just stuck with me a bit more. kpop brought a genuine smile to my face. and while people ignored me, rolled their eyes when i spoke and created rumours about me, my private life, the things i do and like, my sexuality, anything they could really, bts was there and gave me a hand to hold onto. i know that I'm talking about myself a lot but I'm glad that i am because i except myself, I'm proud of myself and i love myself and i don't i could have made it here without these boys. and i don't think I'm alone when i say that. bts is not the reason for my happiness. but they are the reason i found happiness. thank you for being my light.
