Bill Haney has used Mayweather’s name and legacy a lot in how he’s marketed and promoted his son, and honestly, I think Mayweather has stayed pretty quiet about it. From Mayweather’s perspective, although not the GOAT in my humble opinion, he achieved some incredible things and seeing someone use your name or try to appropriate your persona and therefore your achievements, it must be irritating at the least. And when Bill Haney started saying a few months ago that a teenage Haney was besting Floyd in the gym, that was a step too far and deserved rebuke. There’s a clip of Devin Haney from the Garcia fight build up literally saying “when I saw how Floyd was moving I realised my dad wasn’t doing much, and that’s when I decided Floyd is who I want to be like”.

Bill has weak character. I know he’s y’all’s friend and I have love and respect for you brothers. But bill spent months calling Tank a monkey. He insulted Floyd’a kids. And has been bragging about ignorant street nonsense. Please talk to your friend and tell him, however he can receive it, to calm down. But he’s negatively impacting his son and the perception ppl have of him
