Green chef is awsome since I am out in the field working on houses and my wife being a High School English teacher is worn out in a different way. Meals are well planned and come together quickly. For some reason I can't straight comment, but as usual you ROCK! Love all your videos! A thought....I kinda wish you to slow down and show use on tools etc such as domino but understan since this is a huge project and lengthy. Also waiting for new videos. Top fan.

Holy cow, that was so complex compared to your other beds. It turned out AMAZING! I love that you tackled 3 completely different bed designs, too. You really go full send on each one, doing completely different designs and ideas. You don't just stick to what you know. Truly inspirational for up and coming wood workers ❤️

Awesome woodworking techniques. Love watching you work. Just discovered your channel today, 4 November 2023. I am a past woodworker. Sold out my shop and moved out of America to retire in the Czech Republic. Over here I do not have the ability to have a shop, so watching woodworking is the next best thing, especially watching individuals who give a hoot about accuracy.

I was once a young boy with a mom who was an ace with a table saw. Her shop wasn’t nearly as well fitted out as yours. But her mentorship with my interest in woodworking was so important for me. She taught me plenty about wood and tool use, and also taught me to not be an obnoxious male know-it-all when brilliant women can show me how much I have to learn. I wish you were my next door neighbor. I’d be looking over your shoulder all the time. You’d probably get tired of that. Great teaching.

Glad to see youtube is finally recommending me your videos again after your break, time to catch up on the two I missed! One thing I took away from this build was how good the side tables looked next to the bed with the oversized headboard, they fit so well there like they were part of the bed without actually being attached. I've only ever thought of making headboards as wide as the bed so that detail is really expanding my thinking.

@mountainlightwoodcraft
@mountainlightwoodcraft 11 місяців тому
Tamar, you always create such wonderful projects, and, like the rest of us, you make mistakes and have to fix them. Great job! Great ASMR! I employ a simple trick to hide the end grain that is inevitable on butt joints such as your bed rails: Cut the ends of the overlapping piece at 45 degrees, and then cut off a small piece that is also 45 degrees and only as long as the board is thick that will serve as a return. That way, it appears that the grain runs continuously as long grain all the way around the butt joined pieces. Takes two minutes and ups your game to the next level. Keep 'em coming, Tamar!
@3x3CustomTamar
@3x3CustomTamar 11 місяців тому
Interesting... I think I am imagining this correctly... Then there would still be a break between the 2 pieces, like a false miter?
@mountainlightwoodcraft
@mountainlightwoodcraft 11 місяців тому
@3x3CustomTamar A visible break, of course, as it is still a butt joint. However, at least this way, the grain runs continuously all the way around the perimeter. You never encounter end grain visually. For the best grain matching results, cut your "miter wrap" pieces from the ends of the adjoining pieces and not from the ends of the perpendicular piece that gets 45-deg cuts on both ends. This way, it will more closely resemble a picture frame joint without the problems associated with delicate "knife-edge" joints on big heavy boards. Try it next time. Takes 5 minutes to employ, and the inside cut 45 at each end has no effect on your target dimensional length.

Great to see you finally get back into action. Although there is a lot to be done in your new space, you find the time to complete this beautiful project. Love it.

Nice to see you having full length videos again. Your workshop looks great. Very nice design and work on the bed. I’m definitely going to try the Osmo finish on a future project.

That's great Tamar. So many steps! Simpatico for your mistake, but great solution found. I normally have to go for a walk when I do stuff like that. Well done!

The new shop looks good. I love the glass garage door. The bed turned out fantastic. Keep up the good work.

I have nothing but admiration for your tenacity, creativity and passion for achieving the best end result. Tamar thank you for making this video for us, for sharing your struggles and your joy. (I still think you used that levitation device from the speeder in Star wars)

Absolutely beautiful. If it helps, every single mistake you made -> I've done several times over. Especially wood on the planer. You're in the zone and you're tired and of course everything falls off !
