Exploring Robbers Cave: Oklahoma's Once Outlaw Hideout In The Mountains
Visiting this park in Oklahoma you might find it pretty surprising. Not only is it located in the foothills of the Ozarks with some beautiful mountain views but it also features 3 lakes and waterways. Within this vast are you can enjoy canoes, kayaks and paddle boats, swimming, hiking and relaxing in the beautiful surroundings.
On this video we sought out the Robber's Cave, the parks namesake feature which has a very unique historic past. Robbers once hid in the hills using this as a vantage against those who might be searching for them. It is said that to this day there are still treasures in the mountains, hidden behind a wall of fallen rocks.

This looks like a very different side of Oklahoma than I have seen in some of your other videos. Maybe Oklahoma has a bit more to it than I had originally expected. Thank you for sharing these kind of videos to give us a better idea of Oklahoma's geography and topography.

Yes Oklahoma has a lot of different things to offer far beyond the rolling plains. I have really enjoyed exploring many of those differences over the time I have been doing my blog. I hope to continue to expand my coverage even further.

Love it Bunny! I love that you're out there playing and this looks like a cool day trip for us from near Sunset, TX. A longer day but, nonetheless, very doable (is that even a word? LOL). Thanks so much for sharing this!

Doable is always a word in my book....lol... not to mention I probably make up words constantly and totally am ok with that too...lol... This was a great day trip, a little long of a drive and would probably work out better for seeing more of the location with a little more time, but they have some great options for stay here also for that!!

That looks like a beautiful place to visit. What kind of accommodations do they have? Being in OK it could be a lovely place to visit with family and something a bit different but lodging is something that is important if we do that.
@BunnyPlaysHere
@BunnyPlaysHere 3 роки тому
They do have a lot of different options for accommodations here!! Glad you asked!! I will be doing a full video about the camping itself, but in addition to the camping, they have cabins and a lodge which are available for reservations. Great place to visit and unwind with family or friends for sure!!! They also have mini golf, a pool, canoes, kayaks, trail rides and so many more things!!

You mentioned GPS has issues here. Is there adequate cell signal once you arrive? I am interested in putting together trip soon and will be working remotely while I travel since our office still has not yet opened in my state. I am very interested in finding places like this to visit so I can enjoy some hiking along the way.

Hey man that sounds like a good little set up for trying something new. I have traveled in a van off and on for some years and really enjoy it. Check out the boon docking sites to find some places to stay also for free so you don't always have to pay for sites and it will make it even more of an adventure. We have used several of them and can still find signal with Verizon even when further out. Also they do have boosters for your vehicle to help you signal if you are needing higher upload/download rates. - Good Luck!

When I visited I had cell service still in this area with AT&T, something I cannot say for many places I have visited. Depending on your service provider I know certain areas are spotty however I had good luck here. They also have a stronger WIFI connection available at the Lodge I noticed.

Been there. Used to live in oklahama till I was 13. then family moved to florida. Swam in the lake pretty often. went inside the cave(as far as you can go theres a sign that says do not go past) or atleast there was when i was there. Also did the trails. My older sister almost got us lost on the trails. I was around 11 i think and we were walking the trails. My older sister was navigating the trail markers which were at the time just painted lines on the trees. green for shortest trail yellow for slightly longer trail and red was the longest trail. Well my older sister who like i said was the one doing the navigating making sure we stayed on the trail. Messed up. And we went off trail. When she finally realized. It took us 30 minutes of backtracking and looking for the trail to find it again.

Awesome!!! We were going to do boats on the day of our visit but the day ended up getting away from us with the hike and doing a little drone flying so I will be back!! That was nice, I think I been there many times before (camp wise that is)and the place you meant[tight arias] I probably would go through them (I'm pretty slight BTW)... Anyway I was very curious about how they the name, but all I can think of was the outlaws (who hung out at this place)and 1 was a lady by the name Belle Starr (besides I can tell her pictures 📸 on there).

P.s. I wonder 🤔 what it would be like if that name [Starr](herself)was brought to life these days, like in form of someone who does stuff ASMR of for tourism (or something 🤔🙄😐) just imagine that.

I get this question all the time “I thought Oklahoma was grasslands?” If you go west then yes. If you go to eastern Oklahoma you start to run into the beginning of the Ozarks. Lots of lakes, hills, and forestry in the eastern portion of the state. Love the eastern portion of the state (lived there for 7 years). I spoke with a real estate agent and some people from California are buying up homes and land in eastern Oklahoma. Oklahoma is one of the cheapest states in the country to live in. So it doesn’t surprise me.
@BunnyPlaysHere
@BunnyPlaysHere 2 роки тому
With how beautiful that part of the state is driving through and visiting some of the places I have been I can understand why as well. I recently visited Winding Stair and filmed a video there about the scenic byway which I hope to publish soon, just breathtaking!!
