You need to lay a thick rug or something for Boomer to rest on in the lower tent, so he can warm his feet.

As an MN ice fisherman, one of the most important things to do to our portable ice houses on the lake is “banking the house.” We shovel snow along the outside, covering the bottoms of our tent with snow. Keeps heat in and doesn’t allow wind to slide under neither, game changer my man!

God, this looks like a LOT of work. All the prep beforehand, the setting up camp, the cooking, the weather, the video shot placements, the drone, heater, taking care of a pet, etc. My hat is off to you. Thanks for your hard work. Truly enjoyable video.

You should prep your meals at home. Like precut your vegetables, slice and season your meats for example and place them in zip lock bags. You can then use the dirty zip lock bags for your trash when you are done eating. It would save you time, clean up and trash. You also would have less things to clean and pack lighter on your outing and when you get home. You would also get to enjoy your outing more and little less to do when you get home.

Great and interesting video. I do love your dog. To retain the heat in your tent you should have sealed the tent floor perimeter with snow, thus stopping the wind from entering your tent. Keep up the good work. God bless.

Wow! Looking at your footage reminds me of the hellish winter blizzard we just had in December in Buffalo NY! Over a dozen people froze to death! I was blessed someone very special, who I didn't know, came and rescued me. All the utilities were off in my apartment complex! Wow! I'll never forget it

Aweee Boomer is too cute! Also, my dad taught me this, he packs snow around the bottom of his tent or tarps, and it helps it keep from flying around and keeps some of the heat in!

i watch a lot of these camping videos, and while i absolutely love them all for their different styles, this has got to be one of the coolest setups ive ever seen! ive never seen a tent set up like that and its blowing my mind

It is obvious to me Boomer adores you, when you were first getting things started and hopped up to get things opened up he hopped up on the tire - he just wanted to be with you - you are both fortunate to have each other! As a non camper I was surprised that you did not push snow up agains the bottom of the tent to stop the wind getting in - but like I said, I am not a camper. I am thinking if you did, then the sleeping area would be unbareably hot. I think I am too comfort oriented! It was great to watch this adventure of yours unfold! That was some snowstorm! I was shivering right along with you. And the inside temp here was 68 ˚F. Boomer was definitely enjoying the snow. He's never seen a stick he didn't like. At least the storm passed which made packing up a lot easier than what you went through setting up. As always, the drone shots were incredible. Stay warm and safe travels!

Ive a winnerwell nomad m size with the silicon jack for the wall in the annex corner. Works incredible and heats immediately. Also the insulation for these tents works great as well. Highly recommend installing one of your hot tent stoves. The heat travels upwards nicely guided into the sleeping area.

I had to make a hot beverage just to watch this one but the scenery was spectacular! Thanks for freezing to share that winter wonderland with us!

We rushed him to the vet because he had a broken leg and busted pelvis. He is a terrier mix. He hates the snow. Anyway, I'm glad I found your channel.

brings back memories from our adventures in the NYS mountains and the Appalachian trail, the wife and i with our Samoyed Stormy Weather he could hold up easy in those low temps...im not sure where you camp but the coldest i remember is neg 24 and we loved it, now this was in the 1970s and i drove my 72 K5 Blazer with the real 4 wheel drive lol and a Homelite generator i pulled out of the trash and refurbished it, sadly real life turned serious and 1979 was the last time we camped and these days im too broken down to try it again lol

If you do more snow camping, bring a collapsible shovel with you to pile up snow around the base of your tent. You lost all of your insulation on that lower level from that gap, and that wind was ruthless. Outstanding video, great job!

I know this video is 6 months old but it just got suggested to me. Shoveling some snow around the edges of your bottom tent would make that so much more enjoyable and stop the airflow.

Now I want to go winter camping. Hiked today in the snow with my 15 month old Aussie pup Kenna and it was so fun! I’m going every couple days just up the freeway from me. I live in God’s country. I’m a prepper so watching videos like yours are immensely awesome!

I figured out if you put a return air onto the back of the diesel heater, it is far more efficient than heating outside air all the time, and it gets hot so quick, and only issue is condensation. Nice set up
