Daily driving an EV has huge advantages over combustion vehicles. Use your locally produced electricity from your house instead of refined oil from OPEC.

Funny thing is, at the same time Sleepy was abandoning Afghanistan (which has high level of lithium deposits which he could have bargained for) Huckster brokered a deal for a US owned cobalt mine in Africa to be sold to China. Both are very important resourses in making the batteries. Why did they assist in making China the preeminent power regardingthe batteries???

Why would we want to compete? There is no shift toward electric vehicles. EV's are a niche market at best and China will eventually own that market entirely.
