I can't even lock my phone in the car, unless it's dead. So many options to open and use the car, you'd have to lock yourself out on purpose honestly. All you have to do is drop your key fob in the trunk of any gas model car, and your completely screwed with out an extra key, unless of course your car has a mobile app. Which all of them should by now, but some still dont.
