this is simple. as wireless connections cannot pass through metal, most of these wallets have metal in them.also phone with metal back don't have nfc or wireless charger built into them. nice video kipkay👍

I personally use secrid. Great company small wallet but it eliminates extra clutter you carry. I chose the one that has a leather wrap around for more storage

There is a major wallet brand not on this list. The stainless steel wallets by Stewart-Stand. Don't suppose there is any way you'd be able to test those, is there? I've owned one for years, but now I'm wondering...

Actually put your credit card inside the wallet and try to pay with it If the terminal doesn t read the card then the wallet blocks rfid If it does then the wallet does not protect from rfid

Test the wallets by placing the wallets on its sides. Can you put aluminum in the money pocket of the wallet, getting the same results.

I was curious about the ACM wallet, I'll have to get the full metal variant if I do get one. I wish these cardholder wallets would hold 10 cards rather than 6 or 7. 6 cards are like the BARE BARE basics

I solved this card theft problem quite easily. I just bought some NFC cards form Aliexpress and put two of the in my wallet. Beside my workplace check in card. With those in place nfc readers can't read any of them since tehy mix the ssignals up. I tested it multiple times. It works perfectly (an nfc car form aliexpress is less then a dollar)

GémPlay bet many of the key cards from motels would do the same. I have a couple I kept from when I went on a trip with my family to play with but I still haven’t gotten a reader to see what they will do.

Am I the only one who confused why in the Atomic charger wallet, the credit card was placed in the middle where it hardest to read card, while in others wallets it was placed in front/back? 6:52

Just wrap a thin layer of aluminum foil to your credit card (just make a cover from it) and put it in your normal pocket . Guys stop wasting your money in this products better to use your brain cells.

that's kind of disappointing, i owned one of those lock wallets. but even if it doesn't block, i don't like it anyway. those sleeves inside are so cheaply made the bend and fold so after while it's super difficult to get your cards to slide in them anymore. they need to use thicker plastic or some other material

I cut squares from plastic bag for digital device and put in front of my wallet. I don't own a separate RFID reader but it works against the phone NFC. Can you test if it works against RFID reader? To make it more secure I try to put a regular nfc card in front as well hoping that it messes the reader.

I get one of those card protection sleeves at my bank. With the card inside, I wrap Reynolds aluminum foil a few times around it nice and neat. Then slide it into a slot in my wallet. Presto!! Automatic RFID protection at minimal cost!!

Geez, all these wallets look cheap. Even when there is 'genuine' leather is used, the plastic used inside to hold the cards looks like it would dry out and flake within a year. Not sure if available in the US, but try out the Secrid wallet?

NFC cant go through anything except ceramics while RFID uses the RF frequency band meaning you need a conductive layer between the reader and the card usually well made leather RFID blocking wallets will use mylar or another conductive material between the cards and the outer layer of the wallet. The conductivity of the aluminum wallets naturally makes the RFID resistant however if you had those open they still might be able to swipe a read on the cards because plastic does not really work for RFID blocking.

if you're concerned by RFID scanners then just opt out of having a contactless card, that's what i do. typing in a pin doesn't take that much longer that it's bothersome, stop being lazy!

Someone reading your card doesn't mean they can get anything useful from it, the process is rather complex but in short it's all encrypted so even if someone does read the card they read a bunch of nonsense data and if they want to decrypt it, well that would take supercomputers multiple years so stop worrying about wireless card info theft

Yes decrypting might take a while, but you can make small payments in seconds by scanning a victim while passing by

Daniël Zon well yes, but considering you would basically have to have a direct connection from the reader to a bank, that would be extremely hard to get and you would be easily tracked down and then you’d have to give the money back and you’d go to jail, so in practice that’s not going to happen

@@benjaminplut9448 With iZettle/SumUp and a money mule that is solved... It's a fairly common pratice here in the EU, because we use debitcard and not creditcard as a daily payment method. In the Netherlands all bankcards are enabled by default to make payments between €25 and €35 without any action from the card holder (as in a PIN code or acknoledgement by a button)

RFID deivces dont give enough power to do any real sort of crypto, your confusing the chip transactions with the rfid stuff seriously you can read litterally everything off it in plaintext. try it sometime

RFID. NFC works similarly, but credit cards mainly use only RFID technology. You won't read *all* the credit card info with smartphone NFC readers.
