The best middleweights in boxing today - Saul Canelo Alvarez (50-1-2, 34 KOs) and Gennady GGG Golovkin (38-1-1, 34 KOs) - rematched for the 160-pound crown. Originally, the pair fought last year in September in Las Vegas. After 12 hard-fought rounds of boxing, the fight resulted in a Split Draw decision, albeit a controversial one.
After another 12 rounds of fighting against "GGG" the judges declared Canelo the winner via Majority Decision (114-114, 115-113, 115-113). As a result, the Mexican star is now the WBA (Super), WBC, and IBO middleweight champion of the world. The fight was extremely close, and of course, the decision was a controversial one. Nonetheless, Canelo is the new champion of boxing's middleweight division.

Golovkin clearly won the first fight. 118-110. You can say the second was a DRAW or even GGG by one point. And Canelo dominated the third and final fight. It was not even close. So, in essence it should be Golovkin 1-1-1. But unfortunately, that is not the case of that corrupted judge Byrd who judged the first bout.

You're right and you notice people just making baby noises vs any argument. Canelo was the money and GGG would've had to KO him to get fair call in first 2 fights. (The third was just a money grab -- fans were the losers).

Canelo won the first fight too. Showed more skill, landed more combos and power punches. 118-110 was ridiculous but nonetheless, canelo won that fight.

The Lederman Card depicts a just judgement: Canelo 112 against Golovkin 116. However: Judges Dave Moretti and Steve Weisfeld scored the bout 115-113 in favor of Álvarez and judge Glenn Fieldman scored it 114-114. The result was disputed by fans, pundits and media. Of the 18 media outlets scoring the bout, 10 ruled in favor of Golovkin, 7 scored it a draw, while 1 scored the bout for Álvarez. In Canelo vs Golovkin I we saw the infamous Adelaide Byrd who scored scoring it 118-110 for Álvarez, which led to a scandal in the boxing world. Quintessence: If you don't knock down your opponent you are at the mercy of the more or less biased or bribed?) judges. So we all are waiting for the one who finally manages to knock down Canelo. Will it be Mungia on April 4th 2024?

brother you are clearly the one roger mayweather was talking about. look at the punch stats per round, look at the scoring criteria. you clearly gave canelo biased rounds because he didnt run like he did the first time. he lost both the first and second fights, its not a coincidence most people in boxing scored this fight for golovkin, actually not most but nearly all. a lot gave canelo credit for fighting this time and it clearly biased the perspective of the fight but the punches dont lie, the championship rounds dont lie, the only one hurt in this fight was canelo, the one backing away at the end was canelo. no one believes this fight if it went fifteen goes to canelo. hell hardly anyone that scores boxing a lot and isnt a fanboy of a certain boxer but a fan of boxing scored this fight for ggg. just like the first fight. this trilogy was good, but it happened years late, and boxing will give decisions to the younger more marketable fighter.

Soy mexicano pero q flojera ver pelear al Canelo! Sera el campeon mundial y todo pero la verdad no me genera el animo de pagar un boleto e ir verlo pelear.. Canelo and his promoter Delahoya cherry picked fighters his whole career.and when Delahoya no longer promoted him Canelo cherry picked fighters for the rest of his career.He can only sell out arenas in vegas on cinco de mayo cause mexicans buy all the tickets .he cant sell out a stadium no where else in the u.s. He ducked all the great fighters like Andre ward, Benevidez, and others .He only fought Mayweather cause he knew he was to small to hurt him and Canelo still lost all 12 rounds.He will never b greAt because he scared to fight great fighters and to b great u have to beat great fighters.He lost to triple G when GGG was old .He aint even the best mexican fighter ever Chavez and Sanchez was better.
