I just realised that the code does not work properly on the curiousity board. I had to change the pin to RC3(AN15) to get it working reasonably. The modified code can be found here: drive.google.com/file/d/1F1wu87Z-DkWL05WvrDT6Tv60NwZ0Qnw1/view?usp=sharing .If it still does not work, you can remove the resistor and leave the bare wire connected.
