You're not the only one my friend. I became a diehard Caps fan after going to my very first game January 26, 1997 at the good old USAir Arena. They played the Oilers and lost 3-1. But it didn't bother me in the slightest, cause my 13yr old self knew I was a lifer from that point on.

Exactly, I would like to give a special shout out to those 4 racists Chicago Blackhawk bastards that were chanting "basketball" to Smith-Pelly in the penalty box well I have a chant that Smith-Pelly can send back to them in all CAPS and that is "STANLEY CUP, STANLEY CUP STANLEY CUP!!!! They can stick that in their pipes and suck on that one. EVERY PLAYER that hit the ice during the series run played their HEARTS out to win the ultimate PRIZE and Pelly was one of the standouts that saved his best for last not only getting seven goals during the series but the ONE GOAL that he made to tie the last game against the knights shooting the puck past Fluery, especially after being tripped up by the knights player was one the best shots on goal during the series especially his physical ability to put it in the net falling down. The only other player to accomplish that during the series was the GREAT 8 in a similar fashion but Pelly's shot was amazing. OUR TEAM isn't black or white, its RED, WHITE and BLUE!! Congrats to the CAPS!!!!!!!!!! 44 years in the making but it was all worth it. WE came, We saw, WE conquered!!!!!!!!!!

Bubs- I agree and disagree. While of course it’s hockey .. and I like smith Pelly. Great in playoffs . But this is the last European game left to enjoy, and I don’t want talks of diversity here. Part of the culture . Not to offend , but if you are a leftist you might not understand .

Don Cherry is a Hockey god. You either love him or hate him and that is his way. He has forgot more about Hockey that we could ever hope to know. Don Cherry hates Europeans and most of all the Russian's. He is a Canadian, go figure. Russia for years as the USSR took the Canadian past time (Hockey) and turned it into an art form during international play. They were so good nobody could beat them ever. Even the NHL All-star team of the years could not stop the Red Army team. Of course it was cheating in a way, these "amateur" hockey players where in the Military full time but their full time Military job was to play hockey. So yeah there is that little fact. Don Cherry is fun to watch and loves the sport.
