FILM DESCRIPTION:
Frank Abagnale, Jr. (Leonardo DiCaprio) worked as a doctor, a lawyer, and as a co-pilot for a major airline -- all before his 18th birthday. A master of deception, he was also a brilliant forger, whose skill gave him his first real claim to fame: At the age of 17, Frank Abagnale, Jr. became the most successful bank robber in the history of the U.S. FBI Agent Carl Hanratty (Tom Hanks) makes it his prime mission to capture Frank and bring him to justice, but Frank is always one step ahead of him.

Most of this guy's autobiography has since been largely discredited. Still, a fun if overlong movie. Great final scene: FBI takes a risky but correct gamble that once the con man no longer feels the thrill of the chase, he will no longer want to run.

Yeah Frank Abagbale is a STND: Small Timer Nickel & Dimer. He was no good, no account wannabe con artist who got nowhere in life even as a criminal. Thus he ran a con about being a con.

@@conorwellman8592 No it makes him a liar. if he pulled off all the cons he said he did, then he would be a con artist. If he actually conned people then he would be a con artist. He's just your average low level crook. And no, that's not a Catch 22 either.

@@sharpnova2 He only won two oscar for best director, created blockbuster, became highest grossing directors and made some masterpiece like Schindler list Saving Private Ryan Jurrasic park. Of course he isnt the same level as Leo or Nolan :))

"Sometimes it is easier living the lie" That is certainly the case with the real Frank Abagnale who has been making a living over the past 30 years pretending to be the Con artist he never was. This is a man who is one of the lowest form of lawbreaker: An unsuccessful criminal who lies about being a successful criminal .

I love the moment Frank comes back, he kept his word, He likes the relationship he has with the FBI guy.. A lot of honor!!! The FBI agent could of lost his job by taking a chance on Frank and trusting him. I just really love when people show consideration and return the favor and don't make people regret helping them etc. Honor integrity and consideration!! Peace of mind!!! Trust!! We Americans have to get back to this!!

You know the entire thing is the GF fabrication of a con man who didn't even commit the crimes he claims? And the real Frank ripped off many individuals, and didn't focus on companies like he implies in his fictional autobiography.

Such a great movie that somehow makes the tables turn. In reality, most movies will make Carl the protagonist and Frank the antagonist. But somehow the other way works better.

There should be a disclaimer on this movie since it is all fantasy. Abegnale faked all of it and pulled t(e wool over everyone. Still a f7n movie but none of it is true.

@Bull1908 Abignale never did any of the things he claimed. He never conned his way onto any airplanes. He never worked as a doctor. He never passed the bar exam. He never escaped from prison. He never worked with the FBI. The most he ever did, was pass a few forged payroll checks totalling less than $1,500 combined, and then went to jail for it. He's a pathological liar, not a con man.
