Having spent a number of nights in 0 degrees F doing wilderness survival training I commend you highly for your solo effort. I know how hard it is to keep the fire going in that weather! I bet you went home and slept for 3 days! Thanks for sharing your experiences with us and of course your amazing doggo! What a great partner!

While I was watching this it was 6* F, snowing and very windy here. The more I watched him the colder I was feeling and I was in a warm house with blankets on. ! I don't ever want to be in the situation he was in. WOW! What respect I have for him. Keeping that fire going makes for a sleepless night.

I like watching dogs get their meals, it's like this was the 1st meal ever. 😅 especially when they're in the woods working up a big appetite, they shre can make short work of it. 😊

a Winter Warrior and his warrior Dog,.... throwing a bonfire in the snow storm and rain.. from Southern California .... respect for the hardcore outing...

at home you press a button and you got heat or fire to cook on. Out in the forest it takes an hour to 2 hrs of preparation. i'm surprised the wood shavings were dry enough to to catch fire from spark seeing that earlier it rained then snowed . Love your dog. A trip like that and the video, wouldn't be the same w/o him.

Wow - that was not the typical typical survival video, that was an excellent survival MOVIE and a GREAT ONE! You set up a nice camp quickly, prepared your fire supplies, cooked a great meal and made it through a very cold night. Very impressive. And I appreciate the hard work in the cold to get the extraordinary camera footage. The editing was superb. Thank you so much for sharing your adventure. And as always it is heart warming to watch the affection of your dog when he is with you. You have a buddy for life. Wonderful video.

So it’s nice to see everyone’s video’s. To see Experience backpackers it’s good to get advice and to see what you all do thank you very much.

My friend, I've just watched 2 hrs of your channel. At the moment I have a lot of stress in my life. It the most peace I have found this week. Thanks for that.

I was camping years ago in the mountains of Virginia and everything was going good, I was in a very secluded area with no one around. Later that afternoon the clouds starting building up so I thought no big deal, just some rain. Was I ever wrong, about an hour later I saw a massive wall cloud coming my direction, weirdest thing I ever saw and I had no clue what was about to happen, the wind suddenly picked up like crazy. All my stuff was blown away and I took cover behind a tree and just held on for life. After it was over it took me about an hour to find my things and I haul tailed it back to my truck only to find it totaled due to huge limbs and branches that fell on it knocking out all my widows except one. But I still had power so I cut on my stereo and all the radio stations were breaking in talking about happened. The storm that hit was a derecho and it caused billions in damage to many states. After that I bought a emergency weather radio and never go camping without it. I couldn't even drive to my house for two days due to so many trees being down, that was a long stressful week.
